Are the new Tariffs on Goods from China going to affect prices on Pool cues?

I wonder about JB Cases since those all come from China. What's going to happen to the price and availability of both his cases and the interiors. Having had a lot of nice cases over the years I'll pretty much only use something with a JB interior at this point, like my wonderful leather case...

What is your favorite tip to use with a CF shaft, and what hardness do you choose for the tip?

You know, I have a Kamui brown tip on a wood shaft for an older cue but I cannot remember whether it's a soft or a medium. It's one of those two. Haven't played with it in quite a while though and just dno't recall. Not sure if it's the install or just the tip, but I don't like the side...

What is your favorite tip to use with a CF shaft, and what hardness do you choose for the tip?

I've been so much happier with my carbon shafts since switching to medium tips. I originally was using the soft stock tips that came on whatever shaft I was playing, first Revos and now Jacoby Black V4. Both shafts play better for me with a good medium tip. I went Kamui Black Medium just...

Iowa 2025 - Ultimate Pool USA

I learned this lesson recently in a small weekly tournament. Hit a shot and cue ball didn't do what I expected after a kiss and was heading towards the side pocket. I thought it was 100% a scratch, it should have been and I had my hand in the pocket waiting to catch it. But it stopped, it hit...

Is this the new Brunswick bar table I've heard mentioned here? Looks really nice!

Iowa 2025 - Ultimate Pool USA

Thanks for posting, didn't realize this was going on. Former Iowa native but haven't lived there in years, still cool to see some good pool tournaments happening there. Lets go Savannah!

    Pro Equipment

Yeah, never seen a list but the above referenced videos are a fun resource if you're interested. I like watching them occasionally, fun to see what all pros carry in their case. I haven't noticed any real consensus on tips or anything, seems to be a pretty broad range being used. I'd say...

Anyone ever deal with recollection cues?

I too have purchased from Tom, very good experience, would recommend

    2025 Southwest Cues

They still do them, though not very often according to Laurie. I got on the list in 2014, asked about the satin/pacifier cues after a couple years and in 2023 Laurie contacted me and said they were doing a small run of them and she had my interest noted and one was mine if I wanted. Got this...

    Quick super billiards expo review

Great to hear! I agree, pool seems to be on the upswing around here too, happy to hear it's noticeable there as well. More young people, more casual players and some of them end up really getting into it and taking it serious. I used to know almost everybody who showed up to my local spot...

    Custom fitted CF shaft

I've said this before but I'm really surprised we haven't seen a good custom fit carbon shaft option from anyone. I know you can't just turn down carbon like wood so I feel like there is a market for a carbon shaft blank that has a short section of wood at the joint end that any cue maker...

    Schon Cues

Evan left Schon quite a while ago, started Segen cues, but sadly passed not long after. I think I heard John is gone now too, though I could be wrong about that. I haven't been to the shop in many years, last time I was it was John running the shop after Evan left.

    Predator cues balance point

This is why I don't care for wrapless playing cues, I use the end of the wrap as a reference point for my hand position. I do prefer wrapless for my break cues though....go figure. I like a neutral to forward balance. 18.5-19.5" range is great, with my preference being 19"+, but anywhere in...

    Supporting Veterans

Very cool!! Pat is a super nice guy and a great cue builder. My dad used to work with Pat at his day job before he retired and went to cue making full time (I think) and I've been to his shop once before which was fun, he makes cues about 20mi from where I grew up. Pat is good people!

Anyone clean their tips on the carpet before putting it back in the case?

I see people do it pretty regularly, even pros at tournaments but also at my local hall. I'm a big fan of cleaning off my tips before they go back in my case and my case stays nice and clean because of it. But I don't use the carpet. I make a habit of grabbing a bit of paper towel from the...

    2025 Southwest Cues

That is how lists work, so as long as they acknowledged your email and it’s still valid, then yeah that’ll happen one day. No clue why that would “be crazy”, kinda how it works.

    2025 Southwest Cues

Very nice looking cues, congrats! That ebony in particular is quite the stunner! I got on the list in 2014 so I have a ways to go yet, but did get a Satin a couple years back so I’ve finally had a taste of the South West magic

    Rule question

Yeah, I honestly see no issue with this. You could have elected to move the ball back but chose not to, once you make that choice he should reevaluate the table and play the best options available to him. If that gives him an advantage, you should have moved the ball back.
