    Shy but wants to play

Just Want To Say... Sorry for your loss. I know I have been able to turn to pool in the face of life's difficulties when they arise. It is almost therapeutic...like a meditation. In a difficult time such as this, it is also good to be around friends. As such, your pool team will be able to...

    Pool Hall in Philly.

Yes...check out Drexeline Billiards if you can. It is just outside the city limits, but should only be about 15 minutes away for you. Drexeline is located in Drexel Hill, PA and is one of the premier rooms on the East coast.

5th Annual Bob Stocks Memorial 9 Ball Open!!!

Are there still openings for this event? I would be a B player, but don't know the best way to prove that.

5th Annual Bob Stocks Memorial 9 Ball Open!!!

Sounds Good I am probably only a B player, but I am definitely going to play in this. It's only ~90 minutes from the Baltimore area.

    John Williams Cue Maker?????

Yes, John Williams used to work in Mottey's shop along with Jim White. I have heard good things about his sneaky petes, but I have not played with one.

Updated PLayer Listing Got this from tournament promoter / director Peter Burrows today: "Players are a still about 5 short of 40, but the key players (no special order) . . . Charles Eames , Mike Sigel, Ed Deska, Bob Madenjian, Michael Frank, Shaun Wilkie, Gerda Hofstatter, Danny...

Maryland 2010 14.1 Straight Pool Championships

...I think I've Heard Enough Folks, it's obvious there is a difference of opinion going on here. Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, I am increasingly disappointed to see this line of dialogue continue in this particular thread. As a 14.1 fan/player who calls Big Daddy's home, I am...

Who's coming to the Maryland Straight Pool in June?

That's my home room, so I will definitely be there. I am looking forward to it!

    Pool-Playing Robot

Check it out...a legit pool-playing robot! What's the world coming to? The augmented reality stuff is pretty cool, though. Would make a great training aide if it were ever commercialized cheaply. http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/09/video-pool-playing-robot-is-unbeatable/

    MD 14.1 today

Congrats to Danny Harriman for an impressive victory. After a grueling day - at least for me as a spectator for 12 hours - Danny clinched the championship 150 - 25 over Daya. The final featured a 98 ball run on top of a run of 115 in earlier play today. Great tournament!

    Virginia Pool Rooms?

I recently played at Fast Eddie's and it was okay. Not many 9' foot tables, though. Anyone know how that place in Dumfries / Woodbine is? I think it's called Gator's on Google Maps.

    Virginia Pool Rooms?

Can anyone recommend any good VA pool rooms...specifically between Richmond and Washington D.C. (I guess that would be NE Virginia)? I may be doing a roadtrip that brings me through the area and would like to know what my options are? I prefer 9' tables. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Just what song does it for you in the poolroom?

Great thread! Werewolves of London - Not just because of CoM. The rhythm is right on for my game. Money - Not a big Pink Floyd fan, but same as above...the rhythm is right. Anything Stevie Ray Vaughn. Anything ZZ Top. Classic rock and blues always make great pool scene music.

    Who's In DC/Baltimore Area? -- I Have Moved!

That would be cool. I will likely be there this weekend, if not sooner. A pool-playing pal from Pittsburgh is coming out for a visit...

    Who's In DC/Baltimore Area? -- I Have Moved!

Cool. She spanked me pretty good...and I enjoyed the living hell out of it. She plays a real nice game. I am encouraged to run into players like that because it will only help my game down the road. See you around!

I haven't played there too much since I have only been in town for a couple weeks. I have played with Rick, Cheryl, Jeremy and Chief.

    Who's In DC/Baltimore Area? -- I Have Moved!

All, Just an update that I have, indeed, relocated to the DC/Baltimore area. I have been playing at Big Daddy's recently, but will get around to the other rooms in due time. I just want to know who else is out here that I might be able to spar with sometime?

    Keith Mcready!!

I don't think it is the pool world. I think this type of thing results from the confluence of two things: A Forum (i.e. place to be speak and be heard) and Anonymity. As soon as accountability is out the window people sometimes think they have free license to be insensitive. Don't take it to...
