Difference between great players and good players

Ive noticed that descent to good players usually decide on the spin and speed of the shot before they get down because once they got down into the shot they just need to focus on the shot. On the other hand I have noticed that very good players tend to make some of that judgment when they are...

Owner wants me to run his pool hall while hes on vaca

Yea I figured this as well...I am gonna make a contract that states that 2K will be paid, and that in the even that an unforeseen occurrence happens ( like a hold up), that I am not responsible. Can you think of anything else?

Owner wants me to run his pool hall while hes on vaca

This is seriously not a bad idea...but it can either turn out great...or he may just get pissed because I technically don't have the authority to do such a thing.

Owner wants me to run his pool hall while hes on vaca

I didn't mean it in that way...I am an honest guy and will make sure to take full responsibility. I was trying to make a point that it's not going to be a difficult labor intensive 2K.

Owner wants me to run his pool hall while hes on vaca

Well he said once in awhile his partner will drop in to make sure everything is running smooth. But other than that I am on my own..he said to just call him if I have any questions. Should be a nice experience..

Owner wants me to run his pool hall while hes on vaca

I shoot at my local pool hall about 3x a week. The owner on saturday asked me if I could run his pool hall while he goes away on vacation for a month. He said I can take whatever I want from the bar for free also. He will pay me 2k upon returning. Hes a middle aged korean dude..how cool is this...

    cue length

I was experimenting today with a house cue in my pool hall (dont have a cue), and tried the snooker stance. My game immediately improved and my ability to pocket balls also improved. In fact I dont even need to take any practice strokes with this stance, I just find my aiming point and fire away...

do filipino players use different cues?

It seems like there is something different about their cues. It looks as if the taper on the shafts are either longer or narrower? The other day when I was shooting at my local pool hall, I tried a couple of their two piece cues they had on the wall and one of the cues had a longer and narrower...

    cue shafts

Heres what I mean, look at the shaft in the first link compared to the second link. See the difference in wood? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v421/lord_shar/MeucciOriginal-1024x500.jpg

    cue shafts

I have a quick question. On some cues I see the shaft seems like a light colored wood, almost like a white-yellow color. On other shafts it looks like the wood is darker brown and composed of two different shades. An example is a meucci cue shaft. What is the difference?

    Buying a pool cue

Thanks. Wouldnt the "balance right" device lengthen the cue though? Can you recommend any cues that are balanced towards the front that can be purchased for under $300? Not sure I can afford a custom cue at this point. Thnx

    Buying a pool cue

Thanks for the input. Wouldnt the "balance right" unit make the cue longer though? Can you recommend any forward weighted cues that I may be able to pickup in my local area so I can try them out before purchasing? Thanks.

    Buying a pool cue

I just joined this forum. I am considering purchasing a pool cue very soon. I have about 2 years of playing experience, and I am a descent player. Here my main issue. I played with house cues for a long time, then experimented with a couple cheap cues from my local sports authority to learn what...
