    I think the 2000 US Open would be a BCA Major, really tough field but the 2000 14.1 Championship first places prize was $15,000, whereas the U.S Open 9-Ball was $50,000 the same year.

    Ewa Laurance know as Ewa Svennson at the time, went to the U.S in 1981, she became one of the first European players to win a professional pool tournament, when she won the 1983 Clyde Childress 9-Ball Open.

    The PBA (Professional Billiards Association) was formed in the 1984, by Terry Bell. The PBA sanctioned 1988 and 1990 events. Your right the 1985 event was not sanctioned.
