    about stroke/follow through

I agree but with a short follow thru, many players tend to slow the stroke down before contact...not good.

    Horizontal Draw

A ball can only spin on one axis. In pure draw, the axis is from 6 to 12 and therefore through the center of the ball. On pure side spin, the axis is from 9 to 3 with the axis through the center of the ball. If you hit the cue ball at 7, the axis always go through the center of the ball and in...

Getting a object ball to follow thru?

Ok, thanks. I know what you mean now. I have seen this many times, but you must have a very good stroke or just happen to hit it right.

Getting a object ball to follow thru?

Yes, but only because I don't understand it. I have read through these posts but it's above my pay grade. While I am trying to understand it, I would really like to know how I could use while playing pool. I am in my 80's and don't have the science education you folks amaze me with. Maybe a...

Best Advice Ever For Straight-In Shots?

This is my favorite AIMING method and I use it on every straight in shot. Set up the shot as you diagramed. Aim to shoot it straight in the same way you usually aim. Now while down on the shot, shift your aim to a couple inches to the right of the pocket. Now shift your aim to the left of the...

    New Here? - Introduce Yourself

Many pros get new tips and take about half of the top leather off. I do the same. Try this with one, hit 50 break shot with it and then shoot with it a while. It may feel much better.

    Cue acceleration, the feeling

A gadget to carry around? Yes, you have two but will only need one. Your arm. When I do not feel like I am accelerating all the way to cue ball contact, I try this. Put a cue ball on your kitchen table. Get down with your cue in position to strike the cue ball. Now have someone move the cue...

    Learned something new...

I will take a different reasoning to this situation. Both balls are NOT resting on the flat of the table so therefore they have to exist somewhere. That somewhere is IN THE POCKET. Maybe not at the bottom of the pocket but IN THE POCKET. The shot is good and the player continues shooting.
