What ever happened to (insert pool player name here)?

Did you mean Gary French from the central California area? He's still around from what I understand.

Billy Aguero was seen selling time-shares a few years ago.

    $2000 Bank Bend Challenge

If I don't see any good bends, I might have to jump on this. So far I haven't seen anyone use the best technique for wicked bends.

    Arturo Rivera passed away

I got the news from Frank The Barber's FB page. I first met Arturo at a regional playoff for the old Miller Lite World Series of Tavern Pool. He went right through me and, if I remember right, won the event. From then on I saw him many times at many Southern California pool tournaments. He was...

    Awesome Match

The angle wouldn't allow for it without a firm stroke and possibly losing the angle for the next shot. Best to finesse the shot to the short side.

    I'm sick...

Sorry to hear but ... Tramp, this disease may have you in a lockup safety but I know you'll fight your way out of it, then grind it out for the victory. When you defeat this thing, see if it has the heart to go double or nothing. My guess is that it will back down.

Who played 9ball... before Texas Express rules was the norm?

I remember when most head to head. match ups were using the "shootout" rules even as one-foul BIH was the norm for pool tournamnets. Back then, I remember calling it "Vegas rules" before the term Texas Express came along.

I'll be there the whole week. Looking forward to it.

    Ishmael "Morro" Paez

This happened to him at College Billiards in San Diego against Victor Castro. Morro apparently forgot about the "no forfeit rule", where it costs the offending player an extra game. In the heat of battle Morro was disappointed that he hung up the 9 and told Victor he didn't have to shoot it...

Who has the most fundamentally sound stroke?

John Morra. I was impressed with his stroke when I played him many years ago.

What real good player/pro has bet the most on themselves?

Actually, that one may have been a hustle. On their last match up, some people thought Jack may have intentionally pushed the set out to 11 days just so he could have Toby on the hook for another round.

What real good player/pro has bet the most on themselves?

Keith would bet whatever he had in his pocket. If he was flush from a big score, he'd put up his whole wad. The real answer to your question would have to be Jack Cooney. Although he was a hustler, he took time out to match up with top One-Pocket talent - Toby Flaherty, James Walden, Cliff...

    Thinking of travelling to Mosconi

It would be a pleasure to meet you at the event. Anyone who's willing to spar with LWW and unmask him when he gets it all wrong on NPR, deserves a drink on me.

    Thinking of travelling to Mosconi

I hope you can make it. I'll do what I can to get Darin to the event. Oh I know he'll say he's scheduled to work. He just doesn't realize that this is the very reason God created sick days. :)

    Thinking of travelling to Mosconi

I'll be there. I enjoyed it the last time I was at the Cup, in 2009.

Who made the first jump shot ? Cue ?

Legend has it, Earl was on the road playing Billy Graves from San Diego. Billy pulls off a great jump shot on him. Earl was stunned and asked Billy to show him how to shoot the shot. Next thing you know, Earl is seen jumping at major events.
