This is the one with the all time worst referee in 14.1 history...the looks Mosconi gives this moron are classic.
The speed of play by these two is scary.
Truly remarkable runout in frame 7. One of the best I've ever seen.
I can't even imagine a modern golfer winning a tourney like the Masters or British Open and then say "I'm taking six months off". Tourney or two, sure, but quit the game? Hell no.
Snooker without Ronnie is in a far worse spot...
Best of 35...first one to 18.
Ronnie had a chance at it last game, and Carter fluked a red, but its 10-7 as of now and its not over if Ronnie gets mental.
How about Billy Aguerro, Jay?
Talked to him the other day...spent a long time on the road, including time with guys like Denny Searcy, Dave Piona, and other well known players who lived in Cali.
Super nice guy and a good player.
"Wish I could remember which vid it is, but a classic I know is Grady telling Danny D and Cardone that he is so tired of predicting the next shot correctly that he is going to purposely give a wrong call, just to see what it is like."
Actually, what Grady said as I recall was "I'm TIRED of...
I thought Archer ran 150 and out in a match, and then continued his run to over 200 balls within a few months of even trying the game. Varner had coached him for a bit before the tourney.
The owner is a professional who has been in the pool biz for decades. Friend of guys like Robert Byrne, Nick Varner, etc...
Solid guy...buy something so he has more cash to put into a nice heated three cushion table at his new pool hall. Sorry Lee, couldn't resist.
Edit: link has been removed. Still, glad I got to see it at least once. Don't bother clicking on the link below.
Just saw this on youtube and thought you guys would like to see his 20 run.

Of course he'd beat everyone here with a broom, but I did see a post on here showing his old Adams cue (someone here bought...lucky bastard) that mentioned that he hand selected the shafts after sorting through dozens of them. Had them listed for stiffness and would switch them out depending on...
My hero. Link to his 20 run and 42 in 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EEZ4wsoV_A
He is simply one of the greatest cue artists to have ever lived. TB is truly a legend and with Sang Lee, my favorite to watch. He just gets me fired up to play 3-C.
There is a swing method called "Natural Golf" based on him. Don't think it will ever become popular. He was laser straight, but I don't think he hit it very far.
Tiger Woods has said only very few players in history absolutely owned their golf swing, Moe being one of them. Hogan and Moe Norman...
I work in Healdsburg, but the pool scene nearby is pretty dead. Most players drive down to Petaluma (24 miles or so) and play at Buffalo Billiards. It just changed owners so the address might be listed as "Universe Billiards".
I haven't held, much less played with most of the high end cues listed, but overall I would say that a Schuler cue with the right shaft on it plays as well as any cue I've tried.
I doubt one person in fifty could name more than 2 pool players, dead or alive.
Minnesota Fats and Mosconi. After that, I can only imagine Filipinos knowing any other players because of Efren and Parica's popularity in the PI.
RIP Larry.
I first met Larry 20 years ago. He was a character, that's for sure. Bit of a "Fargo" accent, played some good pool and was an absolute monster with a wild pink ball on a snooker table. He'd give people huge spots and they'd think they had the nuts until he'd drill the pink in 40...
I'd have to guess it was the year Vegas decided to book bets on matches and 20 to 1 Mike Lebron won against Buddy Hall.
People generally believe that pool players sold out their chance at a better future by making bets and getting a one time score.
I think Grady Mathews used to do exhibitions of straight pool and would tell the room owner that he would be willing to bet that he could run a 100 if he got paid double, and get paid nothing if he couldn't do it in a few tries.
Thorsten H. went nuts a couple of years ago in Europe and ran 125...
26?
Holy moly. 42 points in three innings is crazy.
The only better performance in even a practice game is Sang Lee's 50 in 4 innings as far as I know.
