Practicing with hole reinforcement dots and leaving lines in the table

Probably because you can play Johnny...this guy was a weak C player who had the back of his cue elevated all crazy and just hit down on the ball every stroke.

    Shane / Scott Showdown

Frost predicted Shane would eventually be a monster at the game a while ago...even before Shane made the finals of DCC, Scott said Shane plays so good and learns so fast that even a year ago he wasn't comfortable giving him any more than one ball.

Practicing with hole reinforcement dots and leaving lines in the table

There is a local player who has been kicked out of two pool halls for doing this...day after day setting up, and mostly missing, the same couple of shots. The little holes and wear marks in the cloth that result from this make the tables look terrible after awhile.

The next level of 8 ball.

Played this game many times, but never heard of the high/low option. Have to give it a go.

Parica vs Pagulayan One Hole with Varner Commentating

Accu-Stats still sells that match...not sure Pat is too keen on people posting it on youtube.

    Taking Beta blockers and competing?!?

I've never tried them, but one very good player I know used to keep a couple in his case for big tourneys if he got twitchy. He called them his "run out pills". He stopped taking them after a month or two but he liked them at first. I think everyone would be better off getting used to playing...

    Lesson with Dallas West Report

Your average local golf professional who has never even played in a PGA event usually charges 75-125/hr so Dallas West is a bargain. Same thing for Ray Martin, Danny D., etc...

    Kid Delicious vs Tony Annigoni

Kid did a lot of living in those 23 years. If TA is worthy of a book, Kid D is definitely worth reading about. Anyone who has met Kid D knows he has a lot more charisma than Tony, too. Tony actually played pretty good the year the book is based on, placed pretty high in Reno and I was actually...

    any one?

Every hall I have played at has at least one or two three cushion players, but almost nobody plays regular caroms anymore. Asian or Latino halls in big cities seem to be the only places I've seen where caroms, straight rail, is played with any regularity.

    Book Collection For Sale

I bought a billiard collection and one of the main reasons was I saw he had Buddy Halls bio, and all three Eddie Robin books. They are worth more than the other 50 books I got combined.

    good 3C handicap systems

Figure out how long you want the matches to be, guess how many points your best player should make in around that time, and then have lesser players go to a lower number. So a guy like Pedro P. might have to go to 20 points, while a "b" player might only need to make 10 to win,etc....

    One Pocket Rocket

There is a whole thread on this exact shot over at onepocket.org. You need some brass balls to shoot that one, although if it goes you turn the game around. Bad, bad things can happen if you bang into some balls trying that shot.

    Reyes-Souquet Straight-Pool from year 2000

Accu-Stats still sells this match. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets removed since they were not the ones who put it on youtube.

    8 on break odds

Overall, making the eight is probably 40/1 on most equipment, in my personal experience. Based on that, you're three in a row is somewhere around 64000/1, I'd guess. Some tables seem to get in a groove where your odds are much better. I've seen three in a row at nine ball and it went straight...

A run of 21 at 3-cushion on YouTube

I've run probably 20 7's at three cushion, including one earlier today, but have never run more than nine. I really need to think more about keeping the balls away from the rails and leaving more naturals. It seems most of my runs stopped when a ball was frozen or nearly frozen to a rail.

A run of 21 at 3-cushion on YouTube

I wonder if the fans there encouraged him to continue his run to see how many he could run, or if it would be considered "bad form" and he just quit after that. I'm guessing he didn't attempt another shot, but it seems a shame to not keep shooting once you're in the 20's. I want to see a race...

    Kasidokostas magic !!

Amazing, and it all seemed so logical and easy. Incredible video, especially since he did it against Jaspers, who seems to be on the verge of running a 30 in competition after running a few 20's last year. Wow. Thanks.

    Make Other Wood Products?

Kind of surprised more cuemakers haven't chimed in. No chess sets, pool cases, etc...? Anyone know if someone makes pens that look like pool cues? Wouldn't mind having a little Szamboti 4 pointer with some black ink, lol.

    Cte

Billy Palmer action? Even one pocket or nine ball? Make it happen. He plays in Emeryville,CA at a pool hall called The Broken Rack sometimes. Rafael didn't always like it, no offense, but I give you no chance in hell to beat him, especially at one hole.
