    Chin on the cue!

Also, does the ball size between disciplines limit how easy it is to switch between them ? ie. There seems to be alot of 'imagination' & 'feel' to aiming correctly to make pots. (ghost ball / contact point methods etc.) Correctly & consistently "imagining" 2 1/16" v's 2 1/4" balls for aiming...

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

    I agree - 1.00 x 0.98 x 1.04 x 0.95 = 0.97 TDF Cheers.

    Chin on the cue!

Makes complete sense to me. I've got no idea on tourny prizemoney from either major events (pool or snooker) - but I will take ur word on it. Followup question - why dont more top (pro) pool players have a crack at the big $$ prizemoney on offer in snooker ?

    Chin on the cue!

eg. Shane van Boening v's Neil Robertson playing both disciplines against each other ?

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Well, I cant really explain it - but I did the most accurate measurements I possibly know how tonite using straight edges, some card stock, dividers, tape, extension lines etc. - the biggest difference to the autocad data was the throat - bad photo / parralax error from my photo perhaps ? (these...

    Chin on the cue!

Yeah I think there is a reason most top snooker players rest on chin - higher accuracy / precision etc. Would anyone argue potting on a snooker table is tougher than any tight pool table ? (ie. snooker players are better at aiming / making precision pots ?) The paradox being of course - why...

Reyes and Alcano playing the ghost... more to come

Ahh ok cheers. The official BCA rules say called combo = frame won (for 2 players) - but yeah spotting it after a combo would certainly take some of the luck factor out of winning a frame.

Reyes and Alcano playing the ghost... more to come

I noticed Efren combo'd the 10 in like rack 3 or 4 - the 10 was then re-spotted & he continued. This would be 'winning a frame' in 2 player 10-ball would it not ? (legal combo / called ball & called pocket on the 10) Thanx Cheers.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

I've got a Uylin stamp on my cushion rubbers (now covered in rail cloth) - no other branding anywhere except a generic 'premier slate' or something like that printed on the side of my slates (also now covered in cloth). I think my table might best be described as a 'Chinese cheapie ?" Cheers.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Thanx Dan - nice ! :-D I am surprised at my margin of error though from autocad compared to my measurements by hand. I measured 3/16 smaller pocket mouth. (this was tricky to get an accurate 'point' of the cushion I must admit) I measured 3/8 smaller on the throat (my pocket moulds protude...

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Hey Oldschool - run ur autocad measurements over my pockets if ur keen / get a chance. Sorry about the camera angle - seems a bit off ? (damn i-phone plus photography isnt my strong suit) My rails are exactly 2 inches thick if thats of any help. Thanx Cheers.

After quite a bit of practice this week on all the exam 1 components - I took the test again tonite, sunday 7/6 - exam 1 score 56. My 10 ball ghost scores are not showing much improvement yet - I will do some solid exam 2 practice next week & maybe that'll help the ghost scores a little. (as...

    Ghost Variations

Yeah true I guess - whether its 6 ball ghost (and sometimes winning a rack) or 9-ball ghost and never winning a rack, I guess ur getting a similar skills benefit from practicing either one.

    Ghost Variations

I like this ^^ I used to do something similar on my old 8 foot english table - with a rack of 15 but not potting in rotation order - take the easiest pot (potting practice) not so much CB position practice. I'm deffo not ready for 10ball or 9 ball ghost (too inconsistent with my potting -...

    Marking the Long String ?

Does anyone have the long string drawn on their table ? (from the foot spot down to the foot rail) Is it's purpose just to ensure the balls will be racked 'square' to the table ? Cheers.
