I'd bet the finish has worn off over time. The butt cap material is ABS or PVC, both available at Atlas.

Any time you create this type insert/tenon, the face between the ferrule and wood is the fulcrum. Having the wood inside the shaft the same size as the wood inside of the ferrule creates a point of failure, imo.

I always do 1.5X the length of the tenon. Also do a larger diameter in the shaft vs the diameter of the actual tenon.

This is the reason most cue makers don't post here anymore. Someone wants to to be spoon fed free information, without earning it, no skin in the game, then get pissy if the answer isn't spelled out, step by step. I've said it a hundred times...the internet is the worst thing to happen to cue...

Juma has a uniform cream color. Elforyn has two types; either bright white or a swirl of cream/white as in the pictured example.

What you are trying to do is impossible with an existing, finished cue. You will not be able to core out 2oz from the front and move the balance point back 1.5". Even if it was possible, the cue is no longer a Huebler, will no longer play like a Huebler, and will probably fail due to structural...

It may depend on the age. There was the old material that was uniform in color, kind of almost tan that was PVC. Later on, there was a yellowish ABS. It had a little "grain" to the color.
