    cue calculator

Kelly, Again, let me say how impressed I am with the thoroughness of your cue designer/calculator. Very nice! And thanks for taking the time to sanity check my work. I'll try to explain my approach below... it might become unintelligible as I have only a few minutes before I have to go...

    cue calculator

Heh. So my wheel isn't nearly as round as yours! :-) I did the same slicing over the lenght of the cue, using a single wood density for each slice. And then adding any additional weight for hardware/rings. Nothing as precise as your modeling of the cue! I suspected my balance point...

    cue calculator

EDIT: web-based (non-spreadsheet) version of this calculator is now available. EDIT: http://dbv.netavail.net/pj-calc.html As part of my ongoing (and first ) cue design/building experiment, I created a spreadsheet to calculate the approximate weight and balance point of a (plain jane)...

    do butts matter????

Yes. I had my ob classic pr fit to a different butt and it feels completely different now. There is no part of a cue that doesn't matter.

    G10 pin pros/cons?

pros: seems to give the cue a crisper hit. My theory is that, due to the significantly reduced weight in the middle of the cue, the cue resonates at a higher frequency along its length...much closer to the frequency that solid pieces of wood would resonate. Of course, this isn't scientific...

    Newer JEFF OLNEY

WOW! What a beauty. Why must I be so damned poor...oh, right, I just picked up another Olney a week ago :-) If this cue plays as good as every other Olney I've hit, someone is practically stealing this cue at this price. GLWS!

Jacoby sneaky pete with 30" OB Classic Pro shaft

Title says it all...mostly. The butt is a nicely figured piece of rosewood; the pictures below don't even come close to capturing the rosewood. OB Classic Pro was fitted by Proficient Billiards (no sticker on the shaft). This package deal includes the original shaft and the OB. The original...

What sneaky pete do you recommend? WTB wood-to-wood hustler

I own a rosewood players sneaky. I think you'll have a hard time finding a better cue for about $50. The rosewood has barely any figure but the maple bits are of good stock and the finish on the shaft is as good as I've seen. The cue is still dead straight even though it lives in my car.
