Does a short 3 flute carbide bit drill a straight hole?

run an experiment If I want to know if a tool will do the job I would just test it. Naturally if I can afford it too. In this case I would use some scrap wild grain wood and see if I can drill and install a pin. If the pin is centered and straight then I would say it works. Then go for it...

how stable is the flat laminate maple

The flat laminate maple looks promising. It's heavier by approx. 30%. It's seems stiffer. My question is how stable is it? I want to build some cues that could be thrown in the trunk and survive. So far it seems to be very good. Just wondering if anyone has any experiences with this stuff.
