    Another Anniversary Rebuild

I didn't post any of the photos when i got them back. They are still the original nut plates- why would they need replacing, do they get stripped or something? Burlington is just outside of Toronto.

    Rug under pool table?

Great suggestion. This is probably in the long run going to be cheaper than an area rug and it will fit perfect. Thanks all!

    Rug under pool table?

Hi all I recently had the carpets replaced in my basement with laminate. I thought it may be nice to put an area rug under the table, but im not sure if its a good idea. I read that you would want at least 3 feet on all sides sticking out so you don't trip on the edges- but where would I get a...

    Cue recommendation question

I too came back recently after a 20 year absence. I also had (still do) a meucci that I loved. I bought a predator shaft and found I adjusted very quickly to it. I alternated for a bit between my original shaft and the predator and found that I was more consistent with the pred.

Female Billiard player requests your support!

Lol it's true, pool players are a bunch of cheapskates. I donated $20 because, well because its $20 and I have given more to random drug addled homeless folks. At least she is chasing something.

    Another Anniversary Rebuild

I took a flyer and bought a 4x8 sheet of Walnut paper backed veneer. I didn't find it too hard to apply. I used contact cement on both the rail and the veneer, waited for it to get tacky (bout 4 minutes) and then applied it. At the recommendation of the guy at the lumber yard, I utilized masking...

    Another Anniversary Rebuild

So I ran into a bit of a snag with this table. I took the rails to be veneered by a local antique repair shop, and they are telling me that each rail (six of them in all) will run me $300 so 1800 in veneer. Sounded a bit steep so I declined- but it raised a good question- how much should I pay...

    Another Anniversary Rebuild

Hey Steve I don't know about veneering right on top of formica, I would think that it would raise the profile of the rail which may be noticeable- I think you will find that sanding it off is a fairly easy job and gives you a virgin surface to work with. I will definitely post updates, I...
