it always suprises me that customers dont know what tip they r using.not the average player but people that play at a high level.i have several customers using szambotis and other high end cues and when they want a tip they say "i dont know, a medium" lol.

my range is 40 at 4 to 112 threads per inch lol. but yes my cue lathe doesnt compare to my REAL metal lathe.but i think you knew what i meant.

ofcourse,a cue lathe too i didnt mean you cant use a cue lathe to do the ferrule.a cue lathe is a metal lathe. just not a heavy duty one.i describe them as a hobby lathe.

i hate a too soft a hit but the kamui black ss is as soft as it gets as far as i know.i wouldnt suggest going to a soft ferrule.you will get inconsistant play.i have played with soft ferrules and u will get alot of action .a real lot.added with a soft tip and i think you wont like it.also yes...

i agree 100% with varney.buy the bookfirst. wood lathes have there place in a cue shop,in the corner where you sand and finish the cue.

ive seen several cues break from breaking with them.nice ones too.forearm just below the joint collar.also petes right at joint.i always tell people if u care about your cue dont break with it. ofcourse, there is always the ive been breaking with this cue for 20 years guys,and thats fine but...

just made first set of milk duds.just a few hits but they seem like unpressed triangles to me. i like them but,whats the point.or maybe i havent used it enouph.how r the dudleys from mueller.any different?i now have triangles soaking in milk.what is your opinions, thanks

ive been using triangles for years. then i tried diamondback and like them too. actually i love them both, just wish they had a harder hit. i pressed one last night (friday nite)and will try today(triangle that is)

you could just use ivory for the forearm.but you may have to sell the farm for the price of the cue.lol i have seen a paridise with a plastic forearm but not a good idea either way.most cuemakers want the forearm wood to be highly figured with or without inlays anyway

do your best buffing out the scratches.he cant afford the refinish so do the nice thing and help him. ofcourse you will never get kindness returned to you.haha as i alwaysfind out. but you are helping him and it will look better.

i agree with all the responses, but also you should know that him sanding the wrap area cant bring down the weight atleast not a negligable amount so then its either the weight screw or your scale. also send you cue to original maker for peace of mind if anything else. goodluck
