    Ball return versus drop pockets

Ball return is better when doing drills shooting into one pocket as the pocket doesn't fill up after 7 or so balls are in it.

    PPV-Justin Hall vs Corey Deuel-One Pocket-Race to 24 January 13-15th

The flyer states there are VIP seats available. I had to really zoom in on the bus to read it. Pool rooms are wide open here. I might try to get there one night to watch this.

Where to play near Riverview Florida??

The closest to Riverview that I know of would be Baluka's in Tampa. Guessing 20-30 min. drive. I played there last month, they have about 12 9 ft. Brunswicks and it's non-smoking. Livingston's in Bradenton is an option, guessing 45 min. drive around the bay to get there. The most...

Yes, though he doesn't make many cues anymore.

You can list it again under a new thread, but we would like a price, and the rules require one.

Worst and best cue you have ever used

Worst would be a Viking I owned which had a dead hit. Have had a few customs which had dead hits or excessively loud, pingy sounds. Best would be a couple Hagan cues, a rosewood Dave Tice which pings like an orchestra and a Rick Howard sneaky which makes balls easier than any cue I've had.

    Tim Scruggs cue

It looks like a small-5/16 pin to me, like the sneaky petes the shop made.

Is smoking allowed in any part of the room where u play (excluding home-tablers)?

I play at a few different rooms here in Florida. Some have gone to non-smoking after re-opening during the summer. I tolerate the smoke but it's not my preferred setting. I don't see an issue with coughing as the rooms are spread out well with good space between tables.

One Country vs Continent of 49 Countries

Agree the population argument doesn't really make sense. The Philippines has about 30% the US population and would by most predictions easily beat the US team. Taiwan has far fewer people than the Philippines and might beat any team assembled. Uruguay has won the soccer World Cup two times.

    Neat cue "Original Keith" ???

I believe there were two Keiths, Holcomb and Hanssen (sp?). They made some fine cues, a friend bought an older one recently and loves it.

    Danny Green, RIP

Rest in peace Danny Green. He was generous to help with my stroke several years ago. I played him once not knowing he was Danny Green. He introduced himself as "Danny." I found out he was Danny Green halfway into the match and my stroke went in the toilet. My chance of beating him was...

Was Richard Helmstetter still with Adam cues after they moved manufacturing to China?

Is this Justin B again? There seems to be many similarities in the writing style and interest in Adam cues.

    Pool scene in Florida

Good question, I didn't go there regularly, only read about their closing on a Facebook page. Agree it is nice to have quieter room for a change of pace.

    Pool scene in Florida

Side Pockets closed permanently a few months ago. Stroker's changed to non smoking after reopening from COVID.

    Pool scene in Florida

I live in St. Pete. Pool scene is pretty healthy, there are probably 7 rooms within a 30 minute drive. Some are non-smoking and some not. You can find tournaments weekdays during the day. Leagues are pretty common, APA and BCA are around and there are travel leagues which go to bars also...

    Varner-Sigel 14.1..................

Good replay there, I had this one on VHS two decades back. Sigel was sure hitting the balls well that night. I thought Garcia's commentary was good too.

    Trends in type of joint

I think piloted steel joints are probably like manual transmission cars were 15-20 years ago. On the way out but still around. Nowadays manual gearboxes are on life-support. In 15-20 years, I don't think we'll see many piloted steel joints being produced. It seems mostly older builders are...

Is there a vid of Nick beating Efren in the Philippines?

I was there for the clinic and Nick is still playing well. He took challenge games of 9 ball and wasn't missing many. Mark Wilson joked about how much play Nick had put on his home table based on the cloth wear. Enjoyed talking with Nick and getting some pointers from him.
