    Handicap System

I like a number system our local hall used to do. Between 3-8 handicap. Any new player starts as a 5.If a 3 plays an 8 the 3 must win 3 games before the other player wins 8. It seems to be fair and simple.

    Pros not telling you everything.....

I totally agree with most of what your saying. It's like any other craftsman. For example I'm a glassblower, you could beat your head against the wall for years trying to figure out a certain technique or application. Am I gonna show my trade secrets to just anyone, no. I will pass them on to...

    One Pocket fans . . . . .

Thanks for the review. I'm getting a copy at the DCC for sure, can't wait. As far as the Galveston reference I've never seen two powerhouses miss so many balls, that hurt to watch.

    Table time at DCC?

How much is the table time at the DCC? I wanna gamble at 9 ball and one pocket, but wondering how much I need to bet to beat the table time. I'm assuming at least $10-20 9 ball and $20-40 one pocket?

    League Question?

There's no money in the APA in the state or Vegas either. Winning the state tourney paid just a little more than Vegas did, getting 16th out of 700 and something teams. We only got $300 and change in Vegas, and had to get up at 8 a.m. to play a couple/few days in a row. That was too much like...

    League Question?

We only have one pool hall left in our town(cincinnati), they have dreaded APA. I have heard of another one with no handicaps, but I can't seem to get any info. There's not even any local pool hall tourneys, just bar table tourneys.

    League Question?

That doesn't sound too bad, I used to play in a league similar to that but no 9 ball paid good too. One pocket league let me know, I might move there.

    League Question?

I'm wanting to play a league, but I've been out of the loop for a while. I'm not familar with all the different leagues going on now. I'm looking for something that pays good, not handicapped, small team (more money), and preferably on bigger tables. What is this 14.1 all about? I've played APA...

What Made Your Game Go From Good to Great?

+1 What he said. I think simplifying the game and playing natural ball is the most helpful, but I'm no great by any means.

    Custom Joint protector question

Makes sense to me. I don't like sending my cue through the mail, never had any problems. I'm worried about an potential warpage factors from the cue laying sideways, temp/humidity changes, or getting lost. Will there be any makers at the DCC I could drop my cue off to?

    Custom Joint protector question

I have seen a few people start threads about custom joint protectors. My question is do you have to send them the cue, or will quality pics do? Also who do you recommend?

    Still lookin for a Mottey

Still looking for a Mottey cue. Looking for something similar to Koinkid thread-16 cue line up guess the maker. It was cue #14 in the lineup. Or the last Mottey offered from Quality Cues. Thanks to everyone that sent me offers and leads from my last thread, but I didn't quite find what I'm...

Dress Code for Gold Crown Billiards, Erie, PA

Always exception's to the rule, you know that. The handle stickmaster was already taken, damn poolers.

That's a little before my time, but that would be worse than losing to a guy with no teeth.

Dress Code for Gold Crown Billiards, Erie, PA

I wouldn't go your place, that's just me. I wear a hat everywhere, to cover up my bald head and keep it warm. Wearing a hat forward and pool doesn't work. If as you say how you dress defines who you are. Most suit and tie guys are the scum of the earth, I'm just a commoner. All those fancy...

    the center of the cueball

A good way to analyze your stroke....Set up next to one of the long rails, have a friend watch you take a full practice stroke(like a full table follow shot). Use the rail and your cue stick to measure how straight your stroke is after you follow through. Chances are your stick will be angled...
