Tim Scuggs - Mike Cochran Build

Plus one for padauk. I have an EDC with the same wood. It's far more pretty than I expected it to be.

    Make this Revo Go Away!

Ask what you paid for the shaft on FB's Open Billiards Market, and it will sell. The size might slow it down a bit as 12.4mm seems to be more popular.

    Diamonds and dots

So who was the first to inlay diamonds and dots in pool cues? Do we know? From a design standpoint, I'm having a hard time thinking of anything (including beyond pool cues) that has stood the test of time the diamonds and dots have. Thoughts?

New pool room - help with ideas

What rooms have you visited that you can borrow ideas from? It would be well worth your time to make some road trips.

    Bad deal or no?

According to Don there were Mooris and Kamuis (unknown quantity). He never said how many but indicated to me that the tips made this a good deal. They were a selling point. As stated, it was decided that the tips were too valuable to include and this was not disclosed. Thus, I'm pretty heated. I...

    conical taper for pool

I was taught by Bob Jewett that the closed bridge should be tight. Otherwise it serves no purpose. A loose closed bridge might as well be an open bridge is what he said. At least that's what I recall from a lesson several years ago.

    Bad deal or no?

I don't disagree with either of you. I also have to say there would be a different outcome if the shoe was on the other foot.

    Bad deal or no?

    I can't argue with that.

    Bad deal or no?

I texted him and he told me the tips were too valuable to include in the deal. He told me to contact the "seller" when I pointed out I didn't get what was advertised. I left a message and my call has not been returned.

    Bad deal or no?

I did not. I trusted the seller to deliver what was advertised. Obviously that was a mistake.

    Bad deal or no?

No, my buddy did not know about the "extras." He's in NW Montana and is holding the lathe until I'm able to move it East.

    Bad deal or no?

See this post for details. I realize the time limit to complain may have expired, but I'd still like to read some thoughts on this.

    mid size cuesmith lathe

I'm the buyer of this lathe. I had a friend in NW Montana pick it up for me. I've since found out that the metal bench was not included (a wooden bench came with it instead) nor were any tips included. The tips were a selling point and one of the reasons I pulled the trigger. Since Don brokered...

I've owned a Balabuska... sold it though

How about 10k invested in Microsoft and sold for 60k? That's what a friend did a "few" years ago. He said at the peak, his stock would have been worth more than 6 million bucks.

    Gold Crown IV

I just don't have space for a table. The pic in my avatar is a table that I have in storage. I think what I'll do is have it restored and get it ready for when I have room for a table in a few years.
