veneer yea i had a 5-1/4 board of that wood and made the veneer.... i have a 24 inch belt sander 80 and 120 grit dual... cutting 1/8th inch on the table saw was fun......hehehe tell hatch ill call him monday for some parts.... need new pockets and the plastic skirting.... send me more pics...

more pics ok sanded skirts... and removed formica... that was embedded into the wood on the rails... Belt sander.... Heat gun..... Hardwood scraper.... palm sander... and some polyester iceing..... to get the damaged areas nice and flat.... not a job for the do it your selfer..... let me tell...

Formica Let me tell you something people... On a gold crown one I don't know how they did it... I have been in the cabinet building ind for over 23 yrs. And the Formica on a gc1 is not ment to be removed. Some how they grew the Formica and the wodd under it together.. Because they are fused...

Lathe Well i used to build custom harleys and have owned a 60" lablond makino metal lathe. Did very well making tons of stuff on it.. Just no cues....... I have lathe skills just don't have cue building skills...I pretty much have a full woodshop less lathe.. I have profilers planers flat bed...

Formica Do it... I'm doing a gold crown pretty easy.. Formica and wilsoart have scratch resistant coatings on some of there laminates. It's the sights that are not fun.. What i have concluded is 7/16 hold with a corian plug easy to sand to perfection.. Formica is cheap 54.00 a sheet. Good luck.
