Chicago are cue maker that could replace Irish linen on my cues

I’m looking for a local cue maker in the Chicagoland area that could install Irish linen on two cues. I’m hoping to find a green color that’s similar to an old school look, Cortland is obviously a good choice but very difficult to find I do understand. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Cue makers and their shaft design

In 1988 I was going to visit Las Vegas, I actually used a phone book (unheard of these days) and called David Kershenbrock to inquire about having a cue made, he was very nice and if I remember correctly he was working out of his garage, he was going to make a cue for me, the cost was $400...

True, some people are more particular than others, and as we all know we want to blame the cue for our bad game at stones, thank you for your insight.

Cue shaft made specifically for that cue, is it critical to the overall performance

The reason I’m asking is because I want to stay with the original cue makers shaft, this particular cue is a Tim Scruggs shaft, it seems to be a rarity, I guess I’ll have to be patient. I did contact Bob Frey, I heard he’s not working as much as he used to. Thank you for your response, I...

Cue shaft made specifically for that cue, is it critical to the overall performance

Looking for opinions, if a cue maker such as Szamboti, Scruggs, Southwest and the list goes on and on, matches their shaft with the cue that they made, is the actual shaft made for that cue critical to the performance. What I’m trying to understand is, if you get a new shaft that matches the...
