In breaking..i've watched a lot of players aim their cue at the vertical axis of the cueball-basically where the cueball touches the felt of the table. So esentially it looks as if they're cueing with low. Would it be safe to say to also look at the head ball of the rack the same way-meaning...

During his Monday 14.1 league...he has 2 sessions..an early session (6pm) and a later session (8pm). Each session has 6 divisions. His later session includes a masters division which includes-dan barouty, steve lipsky, jim gottier, chris lynch, zion zvi, michael yednak,holden chin, john mccole...

I play in his league...it's one of a kind..and Dan's always willing to help anyone's game...you just have to come up with the questions..and he's got the answers :thumbup:

Van Boening used his playing cue, alcano had a break cue...when van boening was using his playing cue to break, (I believe a joss cue with schon shaft?) he was shooting a lot better..plus according to one of the commentators in his TAR match against pagulayan, the diamter of his shaft back then...

it's a great feeling to find a dead ball in the stack and make your opponents heart sink while in the chair...it's not such a great feeling when you miss your next shot and he runs 50 and out on you :(

While shooting in my 14.1 league tonight..I was playing a guy who had to spot me 50 balls, a very strong shooter to say the least. I tried to not worry so much about missing but rather focus on the reason I missed. I let my head analyze what went wrong and why it went wrong as opposed to just...

if you're worried about the slop/luck factor of 9 ball...have you tried 10 ball in competition?..no luck...10 on the break doesn't count...everything must be called, safties, very similar in rules to the game of full 15 ball rotation that the filipinos play...except for the spot shot rule.

do a search on steve lipsky, and black jack sapolis, they provide great info on diagrams in situations, safeties that come up in actual matches, what to do, how to run particular racks, etc...those are the two that come to mind,oh...bob jewett is another one that you can do a search on

love the carom shot @ 7:54...something that comes in handy..and its surprising how often caroms like that come up in straight pool...especially when you leave yourself with no safety valve after going into a cluster...definitely a shot worth practicing..was the cueball frozen up against that...
