    Netflix drama series featuring pool

I checked it out after seeing this thread and watched 3 episodes. Not sure if I’ll watch any more. It’s very slow moving and centers solely around this relationship between two characters. So far, not enough pool related to keep my interest, but I may give it a few more episodes to see if it...

    Double Hit Nip Draw Debate

I’d say it’s a foul, based on the written rule, with the luxury of looking at your close-up slow motion video, but many judging this shot might rule it as a good hit, as the cue ball did not go very far forward before it came back.

A new way to think about position?

Unless you are an extremely high level player, I think most good players play position for a zone, which is probably a square foot or so in size, except in situations where your window requires you to be more accurate Of more importance particularly for a rotational game is leaving the...

What's the deal with pool players? A sport for angry and shitty people it seems

Not a big deal, I just made the same mistake by posting above. Sometimes old threads get revisited with new perspectives and opinions from those that post, and I don’t see any problem with it.

What's the deal with pool players? A sport for angry and shitty people it seems

You are apparently hanging out in the wrong pool rooms and playing in the wrong tournaments. Any TD or pool room owner / manager would not put up with crap like that. The offenders would be warned, then disqualified and/or asked to leave. Fortunately, as we have a non-alcohol pool room, we...

    SIMONIS or is it?

I’m guessing that was Felice, who has been there a long time and has always given me superb customer service!

    Handle Hand Wrist Angle?

Correct, felt strange the first time but the results made the transition very easy.

    Handle Hand Wrist Angle?

Recently I was told by an older known pro player / well respected instructor, that to keep me from my occasional bad habit of twisting my wrist on my follow through, to remove my thumb completely from my grip. Taking his advice, I’ve been playing much better in the 3 months since he told me...

    What a tool!!!

In this statement from her mom regarding the situation, it would have been appropriate for them to have included an apology to her opponent for the terrible things they said to him immediately after the match. Sadly, they failed to take this opportunity to do that.

    Which ball was hit first?

In our room for our tournaments, at least among the better players, it seems to be a matter of etiquette that if it looks like it’s going to be a really close hit, they won’t play it and they’ll find another shot to play. As the TD and the person that would have to judge the shot, I appreciate...

    Which ball was hit first?

Yes, possibly, if it was too close to call and if he/she was a good enough player that they had other options they could have chosen to avoid forcing me having to make a tough call.

    Which ball was hit first?

Even with the slow-no video, it would be extremely hard to tell. Although it most likely should be ruled as a simultaneous hit, if I am the TD asked to judge this shot, I might choose to call a foul just because there were likely other options and I didn’t appreciate the shooter putting me on...

    What a tool!!!

Fred, when you said you suggested to him what might have been a better approach, I’m just curious what that would / could have been? If he simply warns her either before or after her shot, and doesn’t call the infraction on her right then, we don’t know what would have happened. Yes, it might...

    What a tool!!!

The lesson to be learned is for the benefit of her parents - to act like they’ve been there before and to not embarrass their daughter. From all indications, she handled herself just fine.

    What a tool!!!

That’s just not cool to make that assumption. Based on the video and audio at the end of that match, it appeared she said she only shakes hands, which makes me believe she was more than willing to shake his hand. It was someone else you could hear telling her not to shake his hand before...

    What a tool!!!

That would be the rational assumption, but not unlike APA rules where players are required to mark their intended pocket for the 8 ball with a marker regardless of how obvious the intended pocket is, apparently what is clearly obvious to any pool player or referee is not the case even at the pro...

    What a tool!!!

I assume you are referring to your post #12, which is a long ways from offering an apology for accusing him of saying some very nasty things he did not say, and taking the 1 minute of time it would take you to to edit your original post, for the benefit of everyone else who has not kept up with...

    What a tool!!!

Call shot or call pocket - same thing. You are calling a specific ball in a specific pocket, how it gets there doesn’t matter, and this is the case for all call shot/pocket games.
