OMG, Enough about John Schmidt and record runs!

Glad you're not admin anymore...you seem like you have a Napolean power complex as most moderators do. To your point...John schmidt couldn't play 9 ball or 10 ball to save his life right now. I just saw him and bergman stink it up on a 4 3/8 pocket table. (Yes I know he won the US open) (Yes I...

Center to edge an aiming system or just natural aiming explained?

I shot this in a pool hall with a headcam, then came home and split screen it with the actual Luc Salvas runout. (I even gave him a slight head start ) P.S this was the one and only attempt I made. It wouldn't have been fair if I got to run the rack multiple times to get familiar with it...

Center to edge an aiming system or just natural aiming explained?

Update: after further review I am not really using ghost ball. I am walking into my next shot, chalking or not...I am not a habitual chalker. My body naturally aligns to the english I need as I approach the shot. I do not stand behind the ball...my "aiming" is a fluid motion. I may pause...

Center to edge an aiming system or just natural aiming explained?

I can run a table of 9 ball faster than Luc Salvas....I can do a video of me running one of his racks.

2 rail kick fail and here is why.

You do realize that center ball is an impossibility right? You will always impart some english on the cueball.

2 rail kick fail and here is why.

Yeah well he missed...and I could see from the video that he was hitting to high on the long rail. I was just explaining why he missed.

2 rail kick fail and here is why.

Just go to you table and chalk a spot and do a 2 rail kick with running english...then put a ball so it is just above the cueball path to emulate the miss the player made in the video. Then do the same shot with right english and you should be able to kick the object ball. Next try it with...

Center to edge an aiming system or just natural aiming explained?

I am so natural that it has become a system? :)

2 rail kick fail and here is why.

I made a correction that wasn't quoted. To avoid confusion the about short and long angles...Right english off the long rail will allow the cueball to strike the short rail sooner, thus coming off at a steeper angle. However, this right spin will also try to pull the cueball at less of an angle...

2 rail kick fail and here is why.

which part? What kind of affect a bouncy rail would have on the shot? If you add right english on a long rail like in the video, it will hit the short rail sooner and come off at a shorter angle... The four rail path will look more diamond shaped than rectangular. So if you are shooting long...

Do you know of players who had such Natural Talent, that they could have been a World Champion?

I agree about the drills being a waste of time. Why practice situations that never occur in a game?

Center to edge an aiming system or just natural aiming explained?

After further testing I think I am just using the ghost ball method actually...that has become muscle memory.

Center to edge an aiming system or just natural aiming explained?

That would seem the case, but when I try to do it without any pivot it feels like I am not as connected to the shot but more just delivering the cuestick.

Center to edge an aiming system or just natural aiming explained?

I think your brain naturally uses some sort of edging technique because those are the only finite points it can relate to on the object ball and cueball, versus some ambiguous center ball...so edging is happening regardless if you are using it deliberately with the cte system.

Center to edge an aiming system or just natural aiming explained?

I don't use any aiming systems. I have been deconstructing my game, and found that as much as I thought I was landing on the english I needed...I am in fact kind of pivoting across the cueball. My body is aligned with the english I need, but I don't immediately point the cue at the english that...

2 rail kick fail and here is why.

the rails were a bit bouncy apparently, so that could have been a factor as the bounce would have shortened the angle off the long rail.
