    Tell me about TAP...

TAP must be doing something right since they are averaging over 1,000 new members a month nationally since they started keeping track last May. In my own area I have seen my league grow by 30% last year and I am expecting 20-30% growth again this fall. FYI, the APA here got downsized by three...

I also had lasik and it has done wonders for me. My right eye needs a touchup though but I am a different case than most people. I had cornea transplants in each of my eyes in 89 and 94 and after that (before lasik was around) I wore contacts and actually wore piggy back lenses in my left eye...

    BCA Hall of Fame Inductees

Why not let the magazines like BD or IP do it? They know alot more about the players than most of the people voting now. Let them pick a voting committee made up of past and present players, heads of the leagues such as BCA, TAP, APA, etc., throw in a few cue makers, etc. Get a smattering so to...

    Tell me about TAP...

Chuck Saunders (no longer with TAP due to health problems) wrote the program for it with input from Robert. Robert (I believe) may have had more input than Chuck. But Chuck wrote it into the software. If you helped Robert out on it than you deserve some credit.

I agree with the last couple posts 100%. People that are in the retail biz of spas, etc. should not even have a vote. I suspect alot of them couldn't tell you a thing about the players on the ballot. Earl is another one that should have gotten in ahead of some others. And for a building housing...

    Tell me about TAP...

Let me ask you Flick. When did you join TAP and who was your league op? Your player ID # would also help. I know who and when he started the MVP program that TAP uses now on all of their handicap pages. Just wanted to know if your dates and mine match.

I didn't think I was whining Bob. Just making a point. You still didn't answer my question though. It sounds to me that you might be a voting member and if so, if there is a criteria for election (which I don't have a problem with since you need some kind of guidelines for any election) than...

    BCA Hall of Fame Inductees

No, I did not hear otherwise Bob. But why do you think he withdrew his name? Because they have no criteria at all. That's my point here. Allen should not had to resort to with drawing his own name. I just hate it when people that are deserving of this honor are overlooked because of different...

    Tell me about TAP...

This is exactly what I want to avoid. First off, you mentioned politics and I knew exactly what you meant. Second, I didn't break off and model TAP from the APA. In fact, TAP was formed in 1989. I joined on in 1997. We don't have the same handicapping system as APA and although both leagues are...

    Tell me about TAP...

TAP and myself have never been or never will be about politics. We are pool players like everyone else on this board. At least I used to be.

    Tell me about TAP...

As I stated earlier and let me say it again. I did not have anything to do with the payouts at nationals although I do know that their legal dept. advised them to pay with vouchers. I can't go into this much because I really am not an attorney. I thought that everyone was paid from our...

    Tell me about TAP...

I agree. Everyone that ever picked up a cue thought about going pro at one time or another. Or at least had a fleeting thought of it and than reality sets in and you realize that you just don't have the talent or maybe the bankroll to go pro. Or maybe both. That's where leagues come in. Work...

    BCA Hall of Fame Inductees

To either snub or ignore Allen Hopkins because of politics is a slap in the face to anyone watching this charade from the sidelines. Where or what is the nomination criteria? Do they just pull names out of a hat? Hell, Allen could get in just on the merits of his Super Billiard Expo alone....not...

    Tell me about TAP...

The thing everyone must remember is TAP,APA, BCA, etc. are organizations selling entertainment. Your as a player are looking for two things, a night out and competition. If your looking to make living playing in pool leagues, than your in the wrong place. The money is there in all the leagues...

    Tell me about TAP...

Thanks Chris for your support with TAP. Any kind of score keeping is a pain (especially when your downing a few beers) but a necessary evil if you want accurate handicaps. No handicap system is perfect and as long as there are players out there looking to cheat it than you will see players slip...

    Tell me about TAP...

No problem Dan. I believe Poolhalljunkie has a legit concern that should be addressed but on another hand I also believe Flickit to be a supporter for the other league. I read his post on the Danny Harriman thread stating that TAP is a "dysfunctional group". Anytime you are dealing with that...

    Tell me about TAP...

If I may, I would like to address some of the issues that were brought up about TAP on this board. As far as I know all of the TAP nationals money that were owed was paid out by TAP. I didn’t handle the payouts so I can’t help you with your problem but please call the TAP nationals office at...
