Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

    - That is the look that I am talking about, but I am suspect because the used a dark forearm, making it easy to conceal a round tip of a pocket with inlays, I'll have to call him to see how it was made. Thanks:thumbup:

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

    - - IMO, there are many ways to do sharp points, but if the points are cut in deep, the way that gus, spain, or bushka cut them in ,then I believe that you are adding weight to the cue and controlling the weight distribution in the cue better than adding concentrations of weight with steel bolts...

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

    - - Ive done some searches and I have also looked at some of these makers for years. I have never seen a true 8pt ( no inlaid points )Haley, Scruggs,Boti, Blackcreek, Gilbert. I will check with the others. -Depth of the point should be a standard when talking about deep knifed "v" points- I...

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

ebony forearms- easy to hide errors Overall, I am very suspect of cues that have ebony forearms. This is because if a cuemaker wants to do the points as inlays (because it's easier), it is VERY easy for them to try and hide the rounded tip of the pocket with black epoxy and let the lighter...

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

    - - Thanks, Steve I know that all the cues that Mike and Timmy work on are deep knifed points, but I have never seen a 8pt Scruggs or Cochran that has all 8pts deep knifed.- I could be wrong though, and I hope that I am:smile:

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

    - - Manwon, Do you have or know where I could look for a website or photos of some of the 8pt cues, I saw a 6pt cue in an ebony forearm but without close inspection, I cannot tell if those are inlaid or knifed in, some others had a spear at the top of the point, so again, it makes it hard to...

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

    - - No, not by hand, just deep "v" cut points into the forearm. If somebody tried to cut them in by hand, I think they they would have a hard time getting things to line up.

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

    - - I would love to see some photos, I know alot of cuemakers do 4 knifed in points and then do 4 inlaid points. The lavel of complexity goes up because they have to put the first 4 in the cue and then come back and do 4 more. sounds easy but when you try to get all the points to line up at the...

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

-I call that a 4 point cue, I dont think that the veneers count as additional points, imho I think veneers should be called recuts or veneers. Does John do any cues with 4 four high points and 4 low?

Which cuemakers can make knifed-in 8 pt cues

You say most cue makers do or can. I havn't seen any that do knifed in points. I've seen alot of cuemakers do inlaid points with a CNC machine, but that is not what I'm talking about. In regard to too much stuff on a cue, I'm not looking for a bunch of inlays, just 8 points, maybe 6 points
