I asked a vet friend who works on horses. $50 set up fee, $45 per plate. He said $100 seemed reasonable. At least you are not getting robbed.

call around for pricing. I think if you took a dog in, it wouldn't be $20, so maybe $100 is in the ball park.

    Break cue stuff, again.

It's all about technique. Not woods, carbons shafts, tips, nor cue weight. Get the Predator break speed app for your phone, find out for yourself. Good Luck.

Custom Cue Values... Little help from people in the know?

On one hand you can count the number of custom cue makers who's work goes up or holds value. The rest, figure 40% loss when you open the UPS box. Buy one you can try it out, from the same maker, some are good, some are dogs. Good Luck.

    Tips pros use... Surprise !

I agree, I am finding the Ultraskin Ivory mediums pretty good. Play sort of soft to medium, keep shape well, last a good while. I use mine for both breaking and playing. No glazing problems.

    Production Cue you Swear By.....

Lots of $$$ made with Cuetec standard cues. $1,000,000 maybe? Strickland, Allison Fischer, SVB. The Prestige series can't be beat. $125 or so with the maple SST shaft. If it falls against a chair the chair gets hurt :-). They play as well as cues costing many times more.

    why tip expand upon application?

If cut with a lathe, I have found they often expand, and as said above, if cut with a exacto knife they tend not to expand in my experience https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW2J_0fFyqA&t=258s

Which cues goes up in price over time?

I agree with Buster8001. A good mutual fund is MUCH better. Get any cue you like, buy it for fun, not making money.

Which cues goes up in price over time?

Seems like the spread between bid and offer is huge for well know high dollar cues, so unless you buy right figure on a big bloodbath. They may go up in price but it could take years to be able to sell at a profit. Cues are for fun,not making money.

    Brunswick Being Sold?

Yes, old news. I think perhaps the next move is for KPS to sell the billiard business. Finding a buyer might be hard. But at the right price everything sells.

Anyone ever played on a Gold Crown with Artemis Cushions?

I have a GC III with Artemis K55 cushions. Plays nice but not much different than Brunswick cushions IMO. The Diamond pocket shelves are noticeably deeper making a Diamond play harder. Cushions don't change that. Try it, see if you like 'em.
