Got one recently and it shoots fine. I don't have the others ti compare it to, so all I can say is three people were trying to talk me out of the cue before I let the pool hall. If you like it, you like it, I guess. John
Cappelle's book recommends you practice. Get down for a shot, decide it is not "right", then get up and start over. I am guilty of shifting the cue or getting up but not "starting over". I was trying to figure out a way to run out or get t o a pplace to play safe last night and ended up taking a...
No big deal, I got some scrap leather for burnishing the shaft sent to me, just pay it forward, they were only a couple of dollars including shipping. I have two, soon as I get an address(or later today after the fridge repairman shows up) I will get them out.
PS If you have a secret technique...
I got mine from pooldawg8, http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=229729&highlight=milk+tips
Have only used one, but it works great. His thread says he is out. I have two left. PM me your address and I will send you one. If you like it, you can buy more and send me one back. John
Thanks, got mine, one of my buddies had his break cue tip crack, just trying to find somebody to replace it with yours. As soon as I can break with it I will post results. Tips felt like little buttons of steel, so expecting good results. John
I am using a Jim Baxter sneaky pete, old lepro tip, works great and I can control the cueball better than with a phenolic tip. I have a buddy with a fury jump break and he swears by it. Another buddy swears by the J&J jump break. Try a couple, see what works for you. I also use my playing cue...
Try to find someone that has one and shoot a couple racks with it. It is hard to recommend a shaft for someone else. Lots of cue makers can make a cue to fit your specs, so it will be your "feel" for the shaft that matters. Good luck, John
Sounds like something I would say if I was trying to talk the price down. If the cue is original, it is original. If you had the right josswest, and I had the money, it would be a deal. I however, am poor, and will be playing with less expensive cues. John
I am using a Jim Baxter barn find or my Arnot cue, both work about the same. Jim's cue was a lot more affordable. Good luck, John
PS I have a buddy that is trying to unload a fury Jump/break cue on me, PM if you want a price. Will see him monday night.
I did not read the whole thread. I have 2 of Jim Baxter's sneaky pete barn find cues. They both hit great. I had him change one to a radial pin and had black rings added to the joint. They both hit great. I use them for playing, breaking, lending out. For the money, I feel they are a bargain and...
Got mine today, went to pool hall. Laid them on the counter, vanished WTF. Checked pockets, cue case. Maybe one of my buddies picked them up while I was shooting. Looked nice, hopefully they are improving somebodies break or jump. John
