Easy 8B puzzle! ( taken from a real match )

I really like keeping the 5 on the table til after the breakout. Gives you more options for a good pattern no matter where the cb winds up.

Easy 8B puzzle! ( taken from a real match )

Pretty easy 6, 4, 7 (break the 8), then 5, 1, 2, 8 or 5, 2, 1, 8 or even 1, 2, 5, 8 depending on final pattern. By playing 6 first you guarantee the proper angle on the 4 to be mid table for the 7 and breakout.

Best value billiard balls (Aramith Regulation Size Crown Standard)?

Really, it's more accurate to just say that the quality can't be beat period. The Aramith Duramith might be better quality, maybe, but they are definitely both top tier.

    Masters, triangle chalk becoming outdated

You keep saying the same thing, over and over. Nobody cares. Yes, you are very superior to gullible me. Smarter, better looking, and have a much larger... personality. There's no possibility that us suckers that buy expensive Taom have decided that $1 per month is a fair price to keep our...

Trans debate arrives into Pro woman’s Billiards

Massive error? Naw. It might be an error, but it gets you in the ballpark.

WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

Yup, this. Waiting on some to come in that I'm giving a buddy as a housewarming present. I couldn't be more impressed with that company.

Little John super pissed on poolactiontv

It's pretty standard to at least give some warning. Before the last set starts a, "This is the last set for me" at least gives the other player a chance to renegotiate before the end.

    Interesting 8 ball spot

I don't understand. I play Filler, alternate break. He needs to play regular 8-ball. I get to shoot any ball to continue at any time, including the 8. Once I make the 8 I win? Is this the setup? Because if so, I'm in for every penny I own.

Looking at object ball last on break shots

100% object ball. I haven't looked at the cueball for at least a couple of warmup strokes at that point.

What's the difference between a spectator chair and a regular bar or kitchen stool?

Spectator chairs have a wide built in foot rest, so it feels like you are sitting in a regular chair, rather than a bar stool. This is much more comfortable when sitting for long periods. You get the best of both worlds, a comfortable seat, but also a birds eye vantage point for watching the...

Pool is like... Sounds like a simile to me.

    Gambling As Better Player

Yup, this. My buddy was reluctant to take a spot in straight pool. I had to explain it as, "Look, if I'm not spotting you, it hurts my game. I want to have to play my best to beat you, I need the spot to make sure I have to stay 100% focused, otherwise I won't improve, and it'd be a waste of my...

    How did you learn 14.1?

Honestly, the best way to get better is to play someone else that also wants to learn. As you're both shooting, bounce ideas and strategies off of each other. A second set of eyes away from the table sees patterns that you might miss when you're too close to the action.

Do you move balls using the body of a carbon fiber shaft?

My cue is a tool. I don't baby my tools. Either they take the abuse, or I get better tools. My cf shaft is a few years old and has a ton of miles on it, and with NO effort to "baby" it, it looks as good as the day I got it.

    Yup. This.

Calling Dr. Dave! SVB "Foul" @ UK Open

Not really sure what you're getting at. The cueball hits the 3 before it (the cueball) hits the rail. It then hits the 3 a second time. Most responses seem to assume it only hit the 3 once.

Calling Dr. Dave! SVB "Foul" @ UK Open

The sequence went: ball, rail, ball. The 3 almost doesn't move at first contact, but you can see the cueball change directions before it hits the rail.

Calling Dr. Dave! SVB "Foul" @ UK Open

Looks legal to me. Even though the 3 doesn't appear to move, the cueball drastically changes direction a spilt second BEFORE it hits the rail, indicating that it contacted the 3. It then hits the 3 a second time, and doesn't contact the rail again after.

    Jayson Shaw's 714 becomes 669?

The whole first rack is essentially "free". Most runs stop at a break shot, so by starting mid-rack you basically just lower the total you eventually run by the number of balls that were missing from rack one.

    Jayson Shaw's 714 becomes 669?

You keep repeating this. That doesn't make it true. Maybe try saying it louder. Where in the literature of universal pool rules is this written? You keep citing this authoritatively, so you must be pretty darn sure of it. Post a link to the governing body that you are following the rules of...
