    Is Pool Truly Dying Globally?

I've not been a regular on the forum for quite some time, and due to other activities I haven't been consistent with my playing either. Then the pandemic started, and I found myself absentmindedly browsing the threads here, only to encounter multiple topics centered around many pool halls and...

y'all hit any new shots lately?

A couple of days ago I had three of my balls lined up with the cue ball perfectly. I smashed the hell out of the first one and directed it towards the other two. It resulted in two of them dropping in two different pockets at full speed. It felt magical. Oh wait, you said new? I've been...

My new beauty of a cue

Regardless of whether you like the cue or not, thank you for your responses  I'll certainly enjoy my time using it.

My new beauty of a cue

Already been to the bar, and as I said, it plays much better than my old one :) Also, I was even sent a free glove as a gift, so there's one more benefit to my game.

My new beauty of a cue

Nope, not a fisherman  The design is based on scales, yes, not necessarily fish scales, but it certainly has a highly unique design. I've checked hundreds of models before deciding on this one, so it's maybe just me but this cue fascinated me the most :)

My new beauty of a cue

As I promised, here's a few photos of the cue I just bought. I have to say it plays great, much better than any other cue I've tried, as it has perfect balance, weight, smoothness, and grip. I find the design absolutely captivating, and all in all it feels just like a part of me while I play.

Can AZB Win Back Top Pros and Instructors?

Frankly, I feel AZB should worry more about gathering new members in general, including casual players, league players, as well as the more advanced ones, all the way to pros. Having the pros and instructors here is great and all, but without masses of newer players who could learn from them...

Best way to roll forward just a bit on longer shots?

When I need to make a shot across the table length but have the CB roll forward only a little after impact, assuming it's a straight shot, I'll just smack the CB hard. The reason I don't want it to roll forward some more is usually to prevent a scratch on perfectly straight shots. When hit at...

Do you have any pet peeves about a Pool Cue's appearance?

If it doesn't fit your preferences that's ok, but calling this beauty an abomination is too much. Maybe I have an unusual taste in cues, however, note that I've literally seen hundreds of models, both expensive and cheap, over the last month or so, and this one is second only to the one I bought...

Do you have any pet peeves about a Pool Cue's appearance?

    - simplistic black or red-and-black color design - 13 mm tip - 19-20 oz - no wrap or leather wrap Actually, while all of the above is true, what's most important to me is for the cue to look and feel just right. My cue is sort of like the extension of myself, so the feel and design need to...

    Craziest shot you ever performed

I ran up to the table once and fired off. It was literally my first time trying to look like Happy Gilmore in front of the crew (before I even watched the movie). It would probably fit the definition of the RAM shot, if I've been told correctly. And it wasn't even a break shot. I don't remember...

    Craziest shot you ever performed

Wow, this was truly impressive... sick shooting  I have another personal example, this one also included a full power blast of a shot but had nothing to do with luck (except for the fact that the cue ball didn't fly off the table or get pocketed while travelling full table distance like 5...

    Craziest shot you ever performed

While thinking about the weirdest and most hilarious moments in pool, my memory brought me back to some of my absolutely sick shots. And by those I don't mean necessarily the most skilled ones. I'm talking about those that maybe happened a few times in your entire life, which left both you and...

Break cue as primary playing cue?

This is something I've been wondering about for a time. I've decided to get myself a new cue and give the old one to a friend. So naturally, I've spent a lot of time browsing hundreds of different models. I've already settled on a particularly beautiful specimen I'll soon get my hands on. It's a...

Game That Teaches The Most Skills?

The game I already play almost exclusively: last pocket 8ball, no shot calling, no BiH, no rail hit requirement, CB on head spot after scratch. Last pocket rule + no BiH + CB on head spot means you'll have to go for some difficult shots in almost every game, both to get out of messed up...

    On the Subject of Bangers.....

I literally have the word "banger" in my description, so I think it's pretty obvious I am one. But I wouldn't say I haven't learned and improved my game over time. And yes, some of those clues you mentioned can be used to spot bangers, but really bad ones. There are much better bangers out there...

    On the Subject of Bangers.....

I hear you... I've been called a troll since day one. You get used to it over time. But for me this forum is still interesting and entertaining, so they can't just run me off :p Regarding your question about bangers, well, it depends on how exactly you define a banger. If a banger is someone...

What type of shot do you enjoy the most?

That's the exact reason why I stated "not technique, but purpose of the shot" in the OP. Though if you want to talk about shot technique and mechanics, it's alright with me.

Our Bar Rules and Playing System

While I also think it unlikely that bar players will google these rules once they're completed if they find themselves in the middle of an argument, some bar owners might find them online and have them read to the players who are not familiar with pool rules in general. So nothing bad can come...

What type of shot do you enjoy the most?

What kind of shot do you find the most fun and enjoyable, the one that gives you that special thrill when playing pool? Not necessarily the most useful or challenging one, but the one that makes you enjoy and "feel" the game the most. Also, I'm not talking about shot techniques, like soft or...
