Johnny "The Scorpion" Archer ::Earl "The Pearl"Strickland

The Scorpion and the Pearl If you're serious about improving your pool game this is one fabulous deal, especially for beginning and intermediate players. When I first started playing 48 years ago, nobody who could play would tell you anything about improving and if they did it was probably all...

For under 8k what table would you buy?

Buy a classic If it were me I would probably try to buy an older classic table. Perhaps an older Brunswick Gold Crown 1* or 2, an Anniversary or even a Centennial. These older tables tend to be heavier than contemporary boxes and when properly set up play as well or better than anything new...

    Earl " The Pearl" Strickland

Notice of pending Lawsuit Look Matt, if you intend to continue using my witty original monikers to refer to those two delightful gentlemen you'd best include the proper attribution! My lawyers are hungry. John

    Earl Strickland Challenge Matches

The Mighty Earl What a super opportunity. Its cost most of us a whole lot more to play this living legend. His stroke/trick shot exhibition is amazing if a little disheartening since you know to your very core that you will never be able to do some of the things that he makes look so easy.

    Huebler cue??? Help ID

Rh5 If my memory serves me, Huebler used the RH designator in the mid 70's. I believe the RH5 was the top of the line. Nice 4 point cue with flat-faced steel joint. Hope this helps.

FS: <Book> How to Get By Without Working: A Hustler's Memoirs by Peter Linhard

Getting by Take note of the title. Mr Linhard aka Peter Rabbit shows the reader How to "Get BY" Without Working. Not how to get rich or how to be happy without working. Almost an underground pool classic because of its rarity. An enjoyable read. My copy is autographed but not for sale...

Bad news- there's a thief amoungst us

Absolutely keep your cue with you at all times. It is unfair to your friends to expect them to watch it for you. And what are you going to do if they snooze and and its stolen while under their care--bill them for it?

Bad news- there's a thief amoungst us

I learned a long time ago that the best practical way to secure your case, Armani Leather jacket, etc. is to put them under the table you are playing on. It works.

Steve Lillis, an inimitable character but a great guy was the US Navy champion. He actually played in pro tournaments on orders and in full uniform.

    Strickland Archer Pool School,

Get it while you can I don't post here often but those few of you who know me know that I am serious about my pool game. I've played pool now for 46 years and although I've had my triumphs here and there, my game has been stuck on a very slippery plateau for about 10 years. Its a pool...

    OB-1....I need some learn'n

Earl and the OB1 Shaft Actually, Earl fell out of love with the OB1 shaft four or five monthes ago. He now uses an old-style (non-laminated) maple shaft made by Mike Gulyassy. It has a long straight taper of his own design.
