Why do Teachers insist on the Pendulum?

This is from my post's in the thread Bob was referring to. The green line is the cue at address. When the tip is pulled back 10" it is exactly on the start (bridge pivot) of the S curve. When the stroke swings forward it immediately starts downward to it's lowest point (0.075" below the...

I'm beginning to think Patrick has hacked my reading list. PS; Only works on nano scale so far, so unless you want a really short shaft....

    Tapered Carbon Fiber Tubes

Here is a good example, of a multi-directional lay-up. This is similar to Revo etc. https://www.rockwestcomposites.com/media/wysiwyg/Product_Detail_Images/rw_rendering_cropped.png

    Tapered Carbon Fiber Tubes

Those are roll-wrapped. The available shafts are layered uni/multi-directional fabric. Much different characteristics. Both types are mandril formed, and most can make a custom taper if you can afford it. A one-off would probably cost more than a complete shaft.

    Mosconi Warmup

I also thought the pockets looked large on the overhead camera. I took a screenshot of a ball very close to the pocket. Then opened in a graphics program, traced around that ball, then copied that tracing and moved both to the corner pocket opening. Result = 4.5 inch corner pockets, like my...

    drawing off the rail

You could think of the 'center' as the 'core' or center of mass. So when jacked up, you are trying to hit the ball 'under/behind' the core of the ball, so that it rotates backward around that core. Patrick may have a better explanation.

    90+ degree cut shot

Yes. Please show us this 90+ degree shot when nowhere near the rail. If you are truly hitting ball first this should be no problem. Right?

    90+ degree cut shot

Those were not cut shots. They were kicked in rail first using inside spin.

    aramith tournament set

I would re-word your listing as these are not Aramith Tournament balls. They are Pro Cup as you state. There is about a $100 value difference. I wouldn't want to see you having to refund based on an incorrect listing.

How to make these bank shots

This is where your 1 ball should be. The illustrated table and diamonds are to scale. The pockets are not to scale. Try the shot with your 1 ball 1 1/4-inch more up-table. I am a finicky Dan, not Fred.

How to make these bank shots

Uh... I don,t see a 9 on that ball. Re-read my post. Your cue ball looks correct.

How to make these bank shots

Nice shot. I was able to replicate with your ball placement. However, your 9 ball is much closer to the bottom rail than the illustration. The drawing has the pocket much larger than it would be on a table.

Why Are They Not Playing True 10-Ball Rules?

The latest WPA rules allow two-way shots. Also, the 2 and 3 are no longer placed in the lower corners of the rack. 9.8 Continuing Play If the shooter legally pockets a called/nominated ball on a shot (except a push out, see 9.4 Second Shot of the Rack – Push Out), any additional balls pocketed...
