Wanted: Meucci shaft - 70s era

Wanted: Meucci shaft, 70s era. Ideally, looking for something from the brass pin days, at least 12.5 mm, straight, with original ferrule. Joint is .8215" which I believe is pretty standard Meucci. Thanks.

    Shipping cases

These will work well for George / GTF etc 1x2, but I don't know if they'll fit 2x4. You can get them free from the USPS. https://store.usps.com/store/product/shipping-supplies/dual-use-priority-mailpriority-mail-express-medium-tube-P_O_1098M

Schmelke fails to live up to the hype

My thoughts exactly. The Schmelke I ordered had a problem, and David went above and beyond to make it right. Made me whole a new cue and shaft, shipped it fast. Amazing, considering it was a simple no-logo sneaky for $125. Compare that to the cornholing I've received from a touted local...

    Cue ID - Biagio?

Was purchased in Taiwan, more than 35 years ago. Biagio was my only guess, based on rings, joint, and age. Any info or even guesses, are appreciated.

how do i fix getting blue hands from playing

Maybe an obvious question, but do you chalk with your bridge hand? I chalk with my back hand, per shot - while I do have to wipe down my linen wrap often, I don't ever get a blue hand from the table. Daily play w/ brush after, vacuum every 1-2 weeks.

    tightening pockets

Agree, 1/4" shims make the pockets play funny - not just a little, it's quite noticeable. In my case I was restoring an old table I'd never played before, and didn't know if I'd like it. So I couldn't justify the expense of shipping the rails to someone, or getting a specialist to travel...

Anyone play with an Elk Master? Tip suggestions

OP asked for medium-soft. IMO Triangle or LePro may not qualify; certainly not WB. If the Ki-Tech's don't work out: Pooldawg's MilkDuds are great, but for something a bit softer, but not super-soft like Elkmaster, try the milkduds used by Schmelke. Not advertised on their site, you'll have to...

    Irish Linen Wraps

I had to replace the original Blue Mountain on an old cue - it was so nice and smooth. I don't have a pile of cues to compare to, but I wanted it like a Schon - about that amount of smooth. I ordered a small spool of Atlas' current Blue Mountain, and a spool of their Hurlbert. After reading...

    Meucci Cues

After reading comments here, I was quite reluctant to send my MO 84-4 to Meucci for a refinish. Stories of long waits, cues never returned, etc. I had every reason to send to Proficient instead. But I sent to Meucci anyway. My experience was excellent. Returned in 2 months, excellent...

Help! Trying to Move an Antique Brunswick Table Cross Country

If you have to do normal LTL, check around and see which cross-country carriers are likely to have the fewest stops / offload-reloads during the trip, least possibility for damage that way. Way it was described to me was that a faster trip meant more handlings, whereas certain carriers would...

    Very custom GC4

Wow, that's trick. Tons of work, I'm sure. All I see are the hours spent on it. Even if I were playing on it, if it was hard on my eyes I don't think I'd notice much, I'd be admiring the work the whole time.

    Fixing chips in pool cues?

I think you can fill it with Cyanoacrylate (Super Glue), build it up, then wet sand it or something. Read about the process somewhere here, you should be able to find in a search. Good luck.

    Brunswick Challenger - done.

The long tubes do have a little sag in them, maybe 1", 1.5" max. But they still fit tight in both ends, there's no risk of them slipping out of the collector box, and at the pocket end, there's no dip as the balls exit the gully and enter the tube. So, I figured maybe the sag was as built...

    Brunswick Challenger - done.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, it is sweet. There were times I thought it would never be done. And, a moment or two along the way I was almost too scared to proceed.

    Brunswick Challenger - done.

Maybe more appropriate for a Gallery, but I'm really just posting to say thanks for the help. This is a 1935 Brunswick Challenger, 8.5'. Thanks to Joel from Century Billiards for the cushion / re-felt work, and his patience with all my questions throughout. I still owe him a great Yelp...
