Geno, Are you going to be at Romine's this evening or possibly tomorrow evening? If so, I'll come out and give you some cheap (gas money) practice. :)

    the derby should move

I'm confused. Are you wishing it was back in the Derby City (Louisville) so that it would match the name? You reference a place somewhere in Kentucky, so it shouldn't need the DCC name there either. I think first priority is finding a venue within a 20 mile radius of the Diamond factory...

    King of the Hill

Rob, You mentioned that the bar adds money based on turnout. Is it something like 500 added based on 32 players or 64? Thanks

SVB wins Master of the Table at DCC

Shane hasn't won the 9ball, yet. Still has to beat some guy named Orcollo. It may sound weird, but if Shane gets two 1sts, I think he deserves the all-around, but if he gets a 1st and 2nd, I think Alex's 1st, 3rd and top 25 finish should get the nod. Like, Supernova said, losing in the 2nd...

    Beloit, WI - The Carom Room - $1500 Added - Jan 22nd - "No Masters" - 9-Ball

Playsum9, Interesting that you consider it a Wisconsin tournament. The pool hall is less than a mile from Illinois. I've always thought that the vast majority of players were from Illinois/Wisconsin with only a handful coming from other states. This tourney is not for the faint of...

    Derby City action

Jay, Do you know how many times Scooter made a money ball on the break against Shane? I know the first time when Shane won, Scooter wasn't making many balls/money balls on the break. However, when he tortured Dechaine with that spot, he won almost half his games with making money balls on...

    Soaring Eagle Open Sunday Matches

My better half might be right after all. She always tells me how pool players are worse than a knitting circle. They'll just say what ever little piece of info they have accurate or not. Not trying to defend Dr. Pool, but handicap tourneys are a slippery slope and I'm not really a big fan...

Whats the largest pool hall in the world and how many tables?

Romine's might be 4th on that list then with 50 tables. 40 8&9 footers 2 billiard tables, a snooker table, and 7 barboxes. I would estimate they are working with around 20 to 25K sq ft. I personally prefer a mid-size pool room 15 - 25 tables. (So I don't get lost)

Any Snooker players in Milwaukee, WI. area

Romine's? If you're referring to the 12 foot snooker table at Romine's, good luck with that Snooker game. Their table, even with loosening the pockets a smidge last month, is still way too tight to play a real game of snooker. Its mainly used to play "golf" on by the retirees.

    Sponsor for Derby City Classic

I thought SVB sponsored Larry last year. They had to play each other in the banks, I believe. :o I might be willing to "invest" in Larry based on a 50/50 split on all profits after expenses.

    Beloit, WI - The Carom Room - $1000+ Added - Dec 18th - "No Masters" - 8-Ball

Good job! :eek:Its tough to run a tournament of that size in 2 days with only 14 tables. I think its wise to limit it normally to 96, to ensure that those coming back on Sunday are "in the Cash". The only other option I could see, would be to start the Calcutta at 10 and start matches at...
