Poll: Who have tested that their cue is pointing at the right place.

I do agree that to a certain extent, certain shots are gut feel (although I am not pro enough to qualify my statement) if you are not using any aiming system. But if you are not sure where you are pointing, then how can you get the cue ball to go to that place. Example of a straight in center...

Poll: Who have tested that their cue is pointing at the right place.

In my country, all able-man must go through the army for two years and we do got to range and use the rifle quite regularly. Hence I am quite verse in that. You can be a sharp shooter when you are zeroing your weapon but when you are shooting at a moving target, then you have to aim off...

Learn with an aiming system or not

The thread is so long and I got lost half way through. Mike81 started the thread and he was asking if he should be using an aiming system. JB Cases made many points and there were many who disagree with him. In my humble opinion, I do agree with many points that he made. They are quite...

Poll: Who have tested that their cue is pointing at the right place.

My method is as above. Cheap and doable at home on a dining table.

Poll: Who have tested that their cue is pointing at the right place.

I beg to differ. I know of a chef who cooks for many years without having any feedback. He doesn't know his cooking was not up to par and he doesn't listen to others. As such, he has been honing his skills for many years, and it got worse by the years. Hammering a nail, you get instant...

Poll: Who have tested that their cue is pointing at the right place.

I don't get it? Why is there a commercial here? I am simply trying to find out who actually tested their cue aiming in that manner. If you are not pointing at the correct spot, no matter what you do with the rest, they are irrelevant. You will never be an accurate potter, period. No, I am...

Poll: Who have tested that their cue is pointing at the right place.

This is one way. Of course there are other cheaper methods. I have devised one. But that is not the topic of this thread. The question is, have you ever check whether your cue is pointing dead center on where you aim, despite not having the aiming sights of a rifle to assist you. Thanks for...

Poll: Who have tested that their cue is pointing at the right place.

Not exactly. Hitting the cue ball up the length of the table and back to the cue tip - Yes, it most likely meant that you are hitting a point on the other side of the table and the cue ball coming back to the centre of your cue tip. However, this drill is meant for better players and it is no...

Poll: Who have tested that their cue is pointing at the right place.

In so many threads, there are so many players who wonder why they are not making the pocket or whether their alignment is off or whether their aiming system is unsuitable for them, or problems with their cueing action, or their basic stance, etc etc. I believe in any sports that requires...

Aiming / alignment down the stick or more "on top"?

One way to learn about your aiming with a stick is: 1. Using laser (or a string), mark a point on a wall some distance from your dining table. Mark a point on the table (on that line) where your CB is. Then draw a line about 15cm from the butt of the cue towards the CB. You can mark a few...

Aiming / alignment down the stick or more "on top"?

Not sure if I am correct, but I believe that all the aiming is done when you are standing and looking at the contact point of the object ball while you are behind the object ball. The moment your bridge is formed, you are committed. The purpose of going down low is to make sure that you aimed...

Precision Potting manual - Free of Charge

Hi couldnthinkof01, From your description, you must be using a LD shaft with parallel shift. For pivot using BHE, one of the factor affecting the swerve is the slickness of the table. You can't just aimed intuitively and make a high percentage pot with sidespin. That is my thought. Maybe I...

    Problem shooting straight in shots

Just a quick note. If one is not able to consistently pot medium to long distance straight balls (where your bridge hand rest comfortably on the table), doesn't it mean that potting angle balls are more luck than accuracy for you? Since you can't deliver the cue ball to its intended location.

What changes that you made in your pool playing history that is memorable to you

Hmm, I started this thread not to be told what is wrong or right in my method (although it is much appreciated). I was hoping that you could share with us one (or several) event that you remember vividly that propel you from a weak proponent at that particular skill to one that you are suddenly...

    New Aiming System (Partial)

Yes, you are right. I have also read about the throw is due to friction between the two balls. To me, outside English creates a very slight counterspin on the OB (again due to friction) thus negating the throw effect. You are spot on. The shaft cannot be LD when using my method.
