    Today was a rough one

The parts you listed to remove from the lathe (chuck and Tailstock) are miniscule in weight compared to the whole machine. And yes no shit it was a little dangerous  the point is unless your going to go into detail on how you would suggest doing it (in your own thread) no one cares...

    Today was a rough one

I leveled it after I got it in place then marked the wheel location on the floor so when i clean I can move it back to where it was without much complication.

    Today was a rough one

What does it matter if the tail stock is still on it? the Excess strap is around the head to keep it out of the way. the lathe bed itself if strapped to the dolly not much of a chance you can hurt the bed of the lathe in this manor. Eject your negativity to another thread please lol

    Today was a rough one

It actually went pretty easy. I used a spud bar to slide it down the stairs while my father slowly backed the truck up with the chain attached to the appliance dolly. It was a little hairy and exhausting but overall it went smooth.

    Coring!

I have done it before, I personally dont care for coring but I believe kims main topic was on full length cores. Regardless of coring before or after the points go in, its still mainly about the sloppy fit. I personally dont care what anyone does to make their cues thats why its "their cue" I...

    Coring!

My issue with gorrilla glue is the tolerance or lack there of. what is the ID of the hole compared to the OD of your core? I like a really snug fit and with gorilla glue I had issues spliting the forearm from the expansion so I had to make a very sloppy fit. which if you have a pointed...

    Coring!

I agree with this statement, AZ has a mentality that if someone has a diffrent idea on how to do something that doesnt apeal to the majority that its wrong and shouldnt be done and the the person doing it should be damned. Im simply saying "Build, and Let Build" the public will decided if they...

    Inlays.......What The Heck Are They?

Hope DZ doesnt mind..... These are inlays and anything else done like this either CNC or Panto. Some points are inlaid aswell. Half splice points I dont consider a inlay so much as a building technique. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tttdkjQo8c4
