Depends on the type of wood, the age, if its cored or not. honestly to many variables and actually no real answer due to the fact that each cue maker has their own preference on how its done. best thing to do is ask the person who is building your cue for a ball park time frame.

Thanks Jim The small work envelope really doesnt matter to me as I only plan to inlay ring work,buttsleeves and the occasional diamond in a halfsplice or something similar. Thanks for the input im going to buy this machine hopefully next week.

Ok guys I picked up a few new lathes now im looking for a new dedicated tapering machine. I like the saw style ones listed but i dont want that big of a footprint. ideally a taper shaper or a basic cnc just for tapering.
