McDermott technology fall behind (butt extension is not in option)

As Paul noted, there are extensions for McDermott. I have the older style extension (The top picture in Paul's post) and it works fine but takes a bit to screw in versus something like a Predator extension.

    Bullet Proof Polymer Tips

A buddy has the blue tip installed on a Revo. I've shot it several times and it shoots and holds chalk well. Only thing I found with it was that you had to put a lot more effort into draws but it wasn't anything that couldn't be compensated for. There a ton of people that have the break tips...

    Rhino CF shaft... Yes/No

That would be my guess. You probably got a 3/8x10 or something like that by mistake. The newer ones should have a thread number next to the tip diameter on the shaft. There are also some variations in pin/threads by the same manufacturers as well from my experience. For instance, I have ~8...

How many of you steal chalk from the pool hall?

That's not entirely true. Bring a flashlight next time. At least on the models at my usuall hall, there is a slot on the front of the table and one behind the rack. Look through and you can see where the chalk is. I usually get it out with a house cue.

How many of you steal chalk from the pool hall?

I never really "stole" chalk, but with an average $50 bar tab whenever I walked through the door back then I wouldn't have felt bad even if I did. When I used Master, I bought it by the dozen. At worst, I'd swap my chalk for a new one from the pool hall when it got a little worn. I would also...

    Windex

I'm a fan of IPA lens wipes but any kind of wipe with at least 70% IPA or higher will do. Figure the Revo/Cynergy wipes are just IPA and a fragrance. I clean my shafts using one of those wipes then a microfiber cloth to dry off. I've also used the microfiber and a small spray bottle with 70%...

iPhone bracket to attach to table light

Depending on the light and if your iPhone supports Magsafe or whatever they call it, this could work: https://www.amazon.com/Valband-Monitor-Magnetic-Aluminum-Desktop/dp/B0DFHHQST8

Have you ever lost your cue?

I've never lost one but finding one gained me some new friends. I found a Meucci sneaky pete in the rack at a bar I played league at. A mutual friend saw it the next weekend and said he knew who it belonged to so I gave it back. The owner and I have been friends for nearly 20 years now.

    balabushka

I know someone who plays league with a Balabushka. He was nice enough to let me hit some balls with it. He told me he played a guy for money in the late 70s and got the cue when the guy couldn't pay up.

    Carbon Fiber Shaft Care...

I use 70% on my Revo all the time. The difference is that it has a little more water and takes a bit longer to dry. Figure it's ready to play either way in 60 seconds.

Franchise Pool Hall vs Self Owned? Who, Why and What

In Texas, there are the various "Eddies" and Slick Willies. In Central Texas at least, most of the Fast Eddies or their other brands have Diamond tables or about to get them. Clicks and Rack Daddy's are down to just a few locations in Texas, maybe one each. Slicks is down to 6 locations...

How are Revo shafts different today than when first introduced in 2016?

See, I haven't gone that far yet. Yet. Still working with a McDermott jump/break. Christmas bonus is coming up though.

How are Revo shafts different today than when first introduced in 2016?

Same here, and I'd have to get a couple of them.

    DAZN

If you are worried about cancelling: Use a credit card like American Express that will give you a virtual card number and set it to expire in 30 days. A prepaid credit card will also work in this scenario. I'd also recommend using a new email address if you do this.

    I finally got it!

If you were unfamiliar, the term for something like this is a malaphor.

Other Carbon Fiber Shafts For Cuetec

I shot with one recently. Felt about the same as a Revo to me. The value at that point is in the interchangeable joint if you get a different cue.

    I finally got it!

It would largely depend on how well I know the person. If I didn't know them, I'd say something like "What a stupid thing to say in a competition."

Finding local cue repair service providers

I've had at least 15 shafts retipped at Austin Billiards and I haven't had any issues. Only "problem" I can recall is that they didn't have a few particular tips like a Caiden fighter but that was a few months ago.

Finding local cue repair service providers

What all do you need done? If it's just basic stuff like replacement tips like you said, Austin Billiards can do it. I use them quite a bit as they are just up the road from my office. They have done a good job for me. If memory serves, a Kamui Black Clear was like $40 or $45 installed. For...
