Thank you for your response. It does some of his characteristics, but it doesn't have the nylon insert. I wonder if he made some very early ones with brass. I have no idea who to send the pictures to see if it is one of his.

I just sent the pictures to Mali to get their opinion. I've just never seen an unmarked Mali or one wth the Delrin butt plate. Thanks for your reply. I'll update when I hear from Mali.

I've seen that joint work & material on early Richard Phillippi cues (Pasadena, MD). I think he is retired from making cues, but his son Rick is still an active maker. Shoot him a message and see if he recognizes it. Both father & son are good people.
