When Exactly Does "The Game" Begin?

In my mind there are several aspects to "the game". As an example, last week prior to league matches I was practicing and a player from the opposing team asked if he could join me. I felt there was a good chance we would be matched up later, so for me, at that point, "the game" was on.

Warning to video producers, ADREV and the death of forcefollow.

Marcus, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this *rap. I started playing pool just over two years ago. Your Forcefollow youtube videos were one of the first resources I came across and they have significantly shortened my learning curve. I really appreciate all the effort you put into those...

Is there any harm in breaking with your playing cue?

JRosen, I'm curious, do you know what speed you break? I'm not having any mushrooming issues breaking with my player, but my average break is only about 17 mph. Time will tell, but I don't think my Z2 will suffer any adverse reactions given my rather anemic break. Others who are able to crush...

Is there any harm in breaking with your playing cue?

Sounds as though if you are breaking under 20mph there is probably little concern with doing any damage to your player. Thanks Guys, Steve

Is there any harm in breaking with your playing cue?

I stopped breaking with my break cue a couple months ago because I felt more comfortable with my player. So far no ill effects. But, I do not have what you would call a monster break. My question to those who have broken shafts, etc., at what speed are you breaking ? Steve

    Fargo Question.

Yes, some of those lower scoring racks are very irritating. More often than not,I could easily scored several more balls but was trying to fix problem(s) early that would prevent me from the possibility of running out. Given my current average I would probably have a better chance of raising it...

    Predator 314 or Z?

I made the switch from a 314 to a Z2 after about 8 months of play. Heard pretty much the same advice as above and was a bit concerned that it would be too much for me. I have never gone back to the 314. Aside from the lower deflection I really like the feel of the thinner shaft and for my eye, I...

    Fargo Question.

Jose, Thanks for the info. Pretty well fits with my situation. I have been playing two years now and recently became a 6 (8 ball). Played 10 racks of Fargo for the first time a couple days ago and scored 90 points, with individual games ranging from 1(yes 1) to 17. I hope to give it a few more...

    Fargo Question.

I just started playing this 2 days ago, and yes, I immediately felt as though a good break was a penalty. Yet, if you are going to compare yourself to his rating(Pro, A, B, C,D) chart I guess you should spot the pocketed balls. My next thought was if there is any correlation between Fargo scores...

What skills are needed to be a 8 ball barbox monster

Snapshot, When Scott mentioned 8 ball liability I think he was referring not to the concept of a key ball or whether you could get on the 8, but rather does the 8 have a pocket once you remove your balls. Steve

If you are an A B or C player

I would jump at the chance to play(rack for) a Pro for that price. One of the things I like about our sport is that it is easier than most to rub elbows with some of the elite. I have only been playing for a couple years and have had two occasions to play with Pros. Both times I received a few...
