I have always thought that Ralf is one of the classiest players in the game having heard stories about him from contact with different kinds of culture - they all agree that he is a great guy. To a certain extent, I can kind of see it now as he does seem to have OCD in the sense that he is...
Have you seen Yang play at age 18?
By no means was a young star discovered. Little ko has been on the Asian scene where the majority of the best players play at and has had high finishes.
I wouldnt call the Taiwanese players robotic. The ko brothers style of play is actually pretty stylish and intimidating. To me the europeans style of play is a lot more robotic despite some showing more body language.
Congrats to ko pin chung. As previously mentioned he has not lost to any foreign players this whole us trip other than at the barbox practice tables by amateurs
The fact that it involves svb on an USA operated event on USA soil makes it more controversial. SVB hater or not, people should be able to voice their own opinion as you do. Please dont mistake the person for their claims.
Thats what forums are for. It is also important to be critical when the sport is helplessly dying. When the US has the honor of collecting some of the top players in the world in one setting, we should be even extra careful. Whatever the ruling is, the fact that there isnt a rule set in place...
Its a little disappointing to have some of the worlds best players playing in such a beautiful venue to have a tournament run this way. Dozen of times tables are waiting to rack because there was only one ref. On top of that I have seen some of the refs to be playing on their phone, put the...
If that was Ralfs spot then it means that he advanced. What if he showed up, lagged then quit? With this kind of ruling it allows for players to rig the brackets. Not implying that they would but its possible. UNLESS the rule was already in place. In a single elimination format, if one forfeited...
This. And sand to smooth it out as desired. Like one of the posters above I have done most of the tip work using basic cue tools, sandpaper and a razor blade.
Efren's stroke isn't too unorthodox despite having an extreme loose grip. Bustamante's stroke on the other hand is not something to emulate - side arm, cue comes out of bridge, doesnt aim center ball, etc.
On a different note, did anyone of you who were at the Rio hear "Next up, Mike Bobble Head Douchaine?" I'm not sure if I was hungover and hearing things.
Was this actually a freudian slip on Billys end as there were a bunch of ads for a restaurant named Ping Pang Pong or something. Yes I am Chinese and find that restaurant name funny, but the humor in that is probably different than most.
