    CSI 10 ball

He did have a mind fart earlier in his match against John Morra missing an almost hanging 8 ball that could have make a big difference in their match. However, John missed a 10 and baby Ko got away with it.

I thought Shane was untouchable in longer races not short races:grin:

    tip hardness

Funny because the OP did not even come close to asking "What tip should I choose for a better draw?" At least thats not what I got out of it.

How long did it take to get your first Break and run in 9 ball?

That is a lot of pool playing years. Even in my short 5-6 year span of playing pool (actually about 2ish years of total playing), I can not remember my first break and run.

    tip hardness

Thank you. That would be my initial take on it too. I only ask because I have friends who ask me to recommend gear such as shafts and tips and sometimes I find it difficult to give a good answer objectively.

    tip hardness

Despite the marketing, what would you say are the primary performance differences between different branded cue tips given that their hardness level are about the same?

    tip hardness

Where can I find a ceramic cue tip? Will I need a 30 dollar Kamui chalk for it to hold?

    tip hardness

And that is exactly that the OP was asking. It would be interesting to have a ceramic tip that holds chalk, but I bet the hit will feel like ass.

How long did it take to get your first Break and run in 9 ball?

The amount of time doesn't really matter. People take on the hobby at different speeds (ie. some people can play 7 hours a day). I think the takeaway of this is to ask yourself what are the errors you are making that prevents you from running the rest of the rack out? Chances are, it is a...

    Did cleaning ruin my shaft?

It seems that the best way to clean the way is to simply grab a very sightly damp towel and wipe it down in one stroke causing a squeaky sound.

    tip hardness

It is difficult to chalk up a phenolic tip well enough to hit at extreme parts of the cue ball. Another factor could be because phenolic tips are usually shaped MUCH flatter than a playing leather tip.

    tip hardness

Some of the best draws I've had are done with a tip on the harder side. I believe the belief that softer tips draw better is just simply the fact it holds chalk better and that you have a better chance of hitting a good shot as opposed to a miscue.

    This is about Shane

It's difficult to say which player is "better" than another. A players success is usually defined by tournament success so we are talking about consistent performances over the course of a few days playing for roughly 1-3 hours at a time. If you recreate these conditions over the course of a...

    What defines a "confident stroke"?

Yang Ching Shun definitely has a firmer grip than most pool players. It is a lot more snooker-like - short and firm. He doesn't seem to have issues playing under pressure having won most of the big Asian tournaments in the 2000s and arguably one of the most feared money players in Asia during...

    Racking clock

I noticed that when watching the replays. It seems weird because the tables should be almost brand new, and the magic racks should be fresh. Maybe the refs in Qatar aren't too competent as tournament hosting is fairly new to Qatar. In my experience, the tournaments both men and women in Taiwan...

    Tired of It (A Rant)

I used to play at a college recreation/pool room thing where there were quite a few "regulars" who believed themselves to be on a different level than the rest of the bangers. Honestly, none of those "regulars" surpassed a solid C level of play. This is obvious when we host quarterly 9 ball...

    This is about Shane

It all depends on what your personal definition of a "better player" is. Everyone has a different definition on it and to me, these debates are pointless if the term has not been defined. A lot of great players did not win a world title until late into their career, IF they won one.

    That is pretty original.
