    Question about an older Meucci

For a straight cue in good condition, $100 is reasonable. New or old, if it makes it past a couple of years without warping or coming apart it seems they do fine.

School Trip To The Pool Hall

Vectors come to mind (paths after collision) and maybe some friction stuff like setting up a frozen combination and getting them to predict where it'll go. Throw it a half diamond or more and explain why it happens. 2 hours is going to be pretty tough to fill, maybe give them some time to...

    Rhea

Twistmyrubberarm.com is a strange website that I found by typing "hood locks" into an ebay search. I wanted locking closures for a fiberglass hood on a car... wasn't expecting the stuff that came up! Your post reminded me of it.

    Relaxing During a Match

Expose yourself to the same level of pressure you anticipate being in, and learn to perform under those circumstances. The military does pretty well with that method, and I believe in it. Specifically? Play more league matches, get into small local tournaments, gamble if that's your thing.

    Poster Ads At Casinos?

I thought I saw movie-poster sized advertisements outside some of the second-tier casinos for their in-house shows. Obviously not taping flyers to a roulette table, but I don't see it being 100% advertisement free.

    Poster Ads At Casinos?

If the answer happens to be yes, that's exactly the kind of thing I want to frame and hang in my basement. It's nearly impossible to get decent memorabilia for pool events. In relation to the question originally posed, I think it would be foolish not to advertise if allowed.

Raising Money For A Great Cause And Chance To Win Some Pool Stuff!!!!!

I wanted to throw out a thanks for running a good donation thread. Prizes or not, it's nice to be able to give a little and support some virtual friends when I can. Unless you mail out boxes of dog poop, I can't imagine anyone having a negative impression of this thread!

    Marking your pocket

    Ah, the direct approach!

    Marking your pocket

Yes, that's it. The opponent in question was apparently searching for some such piece of shit, instead of something generic and readily available like a wallet, keys, coin, etc. One of my pet peeves was waiting on some middle aged cat-lady to prop up her freaking troll doll or whatever on the...

    strategy for league match

Regarding the forfeiture of the last match only, I think semantics calls the breaking down of a cue during play a concession rather than forfeit. Thus, the rule's intent seems to be upheld. I also think it's written that only the last match may be forfeited to avoid a strategic forfeiture of a...

    Marking your pocket

When playing with strangers, drunks, and idiots, it's easiest to just follow the easy rules and leave the arguments for stuff like the ever-popular "double-hit".

    strategy for league match

Strategically, it's brilliant. A team can have up to 8 members, so getting 5 players to show up shouldn't be an issue. Team A played to their strength, which was simply having enough players to finish the match.

    The Whole 'Added-Guaranteed' Situation

Yes... a lot of people were unhappy that weekend. I've only seen it once, and enough feedback was given that nothing of the sort has happened since.

    The Whole 'Added-Guaranteed' Situation

My personal favorite is the $2000 Guaranteed tournament that gets a 64 person field at $50 entry... and pays out $2000 instead of the $3200 collected on entry fees. The guarantee shouldn't be used to cap the payout if you get a larger field than anticipated.

What are the chances of an autographed event flyer/poster being made available?

Idea for new cue case interior

Developing absurd ideas is more fun than data entry in Excel, so I'll attempt to provide a solution for the too-many-pumps issue. A small diameter cylindrical pump could be sewn or built into the case at a side or rear seam. Even a 1/4" piston pump would provide enough volume to fill interior...

There's a guy practically giving away pool stuff!

It's forum member Rossaroni. He's part of a team participating in a cycling event raising money for diabetes research. I've seen a decent number of good causes get picked up and run with here on the forum... we sent a group of kids to camp, helped an assault victim with a little bit of emergency...

Raising Money For A Great Cause And Chance To Win Some Pool Stuff!!!!!

I'm afraid most people, myself included, automatically skip over titles that allude to raising money. The various bad apples from the past have soured the forum. I barely got 13 participants for a no-strings giveaway thread. In any case, good luck and thanks for your selfless participation...

Great question.. new cue flipper says to me ....

I find that describing exactly what's gone on with anything I'm selling makes fewer problems. We aren't using the newspaper classified section here, and aren't character limited that I'm aware of. Everything you typed in the original post should appear in a proper description of that cue.

    Breaking Out Your Jump Cue

That's why I usually don't have mine out. If there's no place to keep it after it's assembled, I don't want to put it together. I even have joint protectors on mine, so it takes almost 20 seconds to retrieve! The horror!
