    Break butt material selection

I see dymondwood break and break/jump cues and assume they're popular because of some characteristics of resin impregnated wood. It made me wonder: if the weight wasn't a detrimental factor, would there be any downside to using a solid phenolic rod as a break butt? Does the phenolic flex at...

The broomhandle, the ultimate pool training tool!

A house cue with no tip is even better as far as I'm concerned. The small diameter, hard, flat surface demands center ball hits only with very little margin for error. I rely heavily on spinning the cueball and use a lot more bottom than anything else. Both options are taken away without a tip...

Ball Cleaning - Why is the debate?

My bucket polisher did a good job using a microfiber buffer bonnet and like 3-4 drops of Chem-Pak ball cleaner. If you drop the polish onto the rotating balls it seems to distribute and work a little better.

    Pro Players and Tattoo's

All this talk of tattoos and cue cases makes me wonder if it's possible to tattoo the hell out of a cow and make a case out of it after the tats heal? More importantly, which case maker can be counted on to not diminish the value of my tribal cow case?

    Electronic dart board recommendation?

The plastic tipped darts used with electronic dartboards (that I'm familiar with, anyway) can be used in a good bristle dartboard. I have a Winmau Blade II board at home (I recommend the blade series because of the beveled edge dividers vs. the round wire; it's amazing how often you can hit that...

    Electronic dart board recommendation?

If I may ask, what drives the electronic requirement? Auto scoring?

    Southwest cues

What if they already have, and all of the tributes are actually unbranded, non serialized cues? Wait list duration is caused by production time spent on the list vs. copies? That would be a fun conspiracy theory to plant. It's absurd, but I'll bet some people would buy it.

No Hustlers Episode 8 this week Friday June 26 ???

You can only hate-watch as long as you promise to tell 5-10 people that they should also tune in so you can share stories of your mutual hatred. They, in turn, must also recruit new hate-viewers.

    Re-use or Re-purpose cloth

You might be able to sell it to someone with a smaller table who could use it, but if not you may just want to draw out a 16x20 or similar large sized area for the going away signed area. Cooler to have one big framed area than a bunch of little ones, IMO.

No Hustlers Episode 8 this week Friday June 26 ???

Yeah, thankfully TruTV can get back to the sophisticated shows they're really known for. Lots of people enjoy shows that are in no way similar to the real-world activities they supposedly portray. My wife never had 30 random dudes competing for her affection in an elimination format with...

The Hustlers, Season 1, Episode 7

I took a chance knowing that it was 50/50 that you were being sarcastic. Sarcasm and ignorance can come across exactly the same without the benefit of tone and expression. I'll try to put your screen name in my "sarcastic tendencies" folder now that I know what's what.

    Southwest cues

I wanted to understand the allure, so I bought a pacifier SW as an inexpensive way to test the waters. The Earth didn't move for me when I hit a few balls with it, and I realized that personal preference and familiarity were higher on my cue priority list. Within 36 hours of receipt, the SW cue...

The Hustlers, Season 1, Episode 7

Picture a match between SVB and Dennis Orcullo. Shane gets down on the 5 and shoots it with some speed to get around the table. The 5 rattles out of the pocket and lays on the short rail, while the cue ball is on the other short rail behind a couple of balls. Dennis kicks and makes good contact...

    Dp cues.. Any good?

I had one for a few months around 6 years ago. It looked nice and played as good as I could make it, but I didn't favor it over my existing cue. I may be one of the only people on the planet who re-sold a DP cue for a gain... on EBay, no less, and 100% accurately described. I'd buy one again...

    1 minut spinning cueball

Bhe is a means of aiming and applying sidespin. There are threads that define it better than I could, but for me it's the only way to reliably pocket balls when hitting the cueball so far off center.

    1 minut spinning cueball

When I was messing around trying to figure out back-hand-English, I did some of the spinning stop shots. I can only hit it consistently with bhe, otherwise I miss the shot.
