    Kamui med vs. Kamui BLACK med

    Tip Hardness and Kamuis First of all I got some early Kamui blacks and I thought what an ingenius idea, layered tarpaper! I had 4 tips delaminate out of the original 12 I bought. Not a great success ratio. Never had a problem like that with the Browns. Anyway I got some more about 6 months...

    Need Tips on Using a Tenon Threader

    tenon size For playability I really like a 3/8 ferule, non threaded and non capped, about 3/4 of an inch in length with a cut down triangle. Holy Smokes Batman. Zowie!

    Universal shaft

    ferule replacement The ferules are not threaded on. Joe Porper sells some threaded ferules that are very close to what is on a Smartshaft. I have machined these ferules to replace the cracked ones on the Smartshaft and they seem to hold up rather well and I haven't had any customer complain...

    Nylon inserts {Huebler}

    nylon inserts For the number of cues Paul built with that insert versus the number of issues people have actually had with it, I would say it is no worse for the wear than say a McDermott 3/8 10(and I play with A 3/8 10 FLAT FACE). Usually when I screw together an old Huebler it has a nice...

    Emeralds and wizards

    tip install I install Wizards printed side up. Never had a problem, they cut real nice similar to a Moori. Tiger products I install embossed side down. I always rough the backs with 100 grit and blow off the back of the tip. Some people score the backs with a razor knife and the facing of...

    Elkmaster question?

    elkmasters I like the ones with the smoothest backs. after cutting them down to ferule size with a blade drag, i shape the tip by moistening the front of it, so i get a smoother cut as opposed to ripping the coarser leather.

    Logo transfers

    To my understanding cuemakers can make their own logos on a computer and print them out as transfers which applique to the cue. Anybody doing this? I guess it takes a special paper and I want to know what it is and how to apply them transfers. If anyone is doing this please PM it to me. Thanks

    Abandoned cue

    I'd sell it and just deal with refunding his deposit and take it as the cost of doing business. You can always offer to build him another one. I am sure if he doesn't get his deposit in full back you run the risk of the customer distorting what actually occurred and the energy you waste...
