    What is a Shortstop?

Pro vs Shortstop? What’s your definition of a “pro”? I put this in quotes for a reason. Not to highjack the thread but this could be a whole new thread. There are plenty of ”professional“ players that are just what this thread is about, a shortstop. And there have been many GREAT players that...

    What is a Shortstop?

I think Danny Medina was more than a shortstop. Maybe not top-tier but more than a shortstop. What years are you talking about? I was just mentioning this in another thread… life decisions can get in the way constancy. Sometimes life‘s struggles that are beyond a person’s control get in the way...

Do you know of players who had such Natural Talent, that they could have been a World Champion?

Now that I think of it sometimes pool gets in the way of a good life. 😳😂

Do you know of players who had such Natural Talent, that they could have been a World Champion?

Agreed, Tyler Strawn from Broken Arrow Oklahoma (closer to Tulsa) played strong. I saw him play a few times. It‘s always difficult to predict… in the game of pool, life (good & bad) easily gets in the way of expectations. Maybe if the money continues grows it will making it easier to be a...

How did this become OK ?

I think it’s about the game not the table.

How did this become OK ?

There's really nothing to get over. It’s just people having a friendly debate or arguing their opinion... which ever side of the fence a person is on, some argue better than others. In this court of law I don’t hear anyone one of the shade tree attorneys suggesting that it’s so serious that the...

    Dick Henry (Colorado Springs)

Thanks for sharing. I’ve heard the name Andy DeJesus many times. My father would take me with him to one of the pool halls from time to time and I also remember a guy that had long hair that my father would refer to as Mike “The Hippie”. I don’t know if that’s what my father used to refer to...

We are all the Pool Table Rights Commission! 🤣 that’s why we are debating!

How did this become OK ?

lol… I obviously can’t read Fedor’s mind but I thought he looked as though yeah this is what I’m supposed to do not necessarily what I want to do. He didn’t stay up there very long and beat his chest. I can respect your opinion for not caring one way or another. I could have complained years ago...

    Dick Henry (Colorado Springs)

Yeah him ending up going crazy is what I know. He was a dear friend to my father and they were pretty tight while we lived there so thank you for that info and sharing!

    Dick Henry (Colorado Springs)

Fat guy sounds right. I’m sure we are talking about the same guy. Not questioning your recollection and chemical problems are probably true as I did say many players game ebbs & flows at times for different reasons. Also now that now that you mention your recollection I do remember my dad saying...

    Dick Henry (Colorado Springs)

Anyone remember a guy named Dick Henry (maybe Hendry) in Colorado Springs? He was my dad’s best friends while we lived there for about three years in the early 70’s. My dad said nobody could beat him on a bar table from about 71-73. When he broke it seemed like the balls were fighting to find a...

How did this become OK ?

This is a total red herring… Zero pool to sweat and bitching (if that’s what you want to call it) about winners standing on a pool table have nothing to do with each other. I didn’t hear an argument/debate why it’s not disrespectful. And by the way, I love many of the players that are climbing...

How did this become OK ?

Agreed! I‘ve always thought getting on the table is disrespectful and contrary to how we all were taught to respect the equipment that we all share. Standing on a table would be that last that anyone would do before they got shown the door in any poolroom. Now I don’t think it’s good for the...

Interview of Mark Haddad recorded a few months before he passed away

Thanks for sharing Jen. Good watch! I was lucky enough to see Mark play here in Albuquerque a couple of times a few years back. Wishing his son good thoughts and hope he’s doing well.

The smaller pockets are helping the weak players, its very deep and people don't see it.

When you play on a table with bigger pockets and you practice exclusively with tighter pockets it’s like shooting into the ocean and you automatically know you have more options. It’s not like when you now get on a table with larger pockets you now don’t realize that you can’t cheat the pocket...

A table with tighter pocket help all players get better if they have the right mindset and practice on them consistently. In no way does it help even up the play. The pockets aren’t tighter for the better player. Jump cues help weak players.
