Whats the best club in London, England?

Thank you for the info, I will be in Ealing and looking mainly to go somewhere with good tables so I can practise during the day and head home about 4 or 5 pm. I used to live in Bristol about 10 years ago and played around the UK on the GB9ball tour but don't know the London scene anymore. My...

    8ballr is BRAGS

Very good ☺ it is a shame because these silly people ruin it for everyone else. In a club it is easy because u can just ignore them. Sad people to have to come into internet forums and play childish games. They would get more from it if they posted constructive questions or opinions no matter...

    Snooker players stance

Appleton comes from a snooker background Mika also does and has had over 300 centuries Alex Pagulayan has been Canadian snooker champion and entered cue school to try and get on the Pro tour. Cory Dual also tried to get on the Pro snooker tour. These four all have snooker backgrounds and could...

    Snooker players stance

Because they are Professional Snooker Players not Professional Pool Players. Their time is dedicated to snooker, a pool players time is dedicated to pool. That is why Professional Pool Players always lose to Professional Snooker Players at snooker. Similarly, Professional Table Tennis Players...

    Getting the break consistant

I am trying to screw the white into the left cushion and then have it lay around centre of the table.

    Getting the break consistant

I have started playing 9ball after a long rest focusing on one pocket. My opponent racks the balls with the 9-ball on the spot and the 2ball at the back of the pack. I have been breaking from close to the left cushion near the head string and hitting the 9-ball on the left hand side with low...

    Pool record keeping app?

I am starting to play 9ball more often and years ago used to keep a book of the number of break and run outs in each session. I have set a target and wish to monitor my progress again but this time with my tablet and wondered if any pool apps can do this for me? Cheers

Can a slump be diagnosed and fixed?

I agree that fatigue has a lot to do with it. If I am in a slump and have no playing commitments then I will take a break for a couple of weeks or month. When I return I might change shafts for a short time or change something slightly with my cue such as put a new tip on or change it to...

    Why is snooker profitable?

Great points. I would like to add that on the back of sponsorship the game has been successfully marketed over the years. In fact during the eighties it was the most televised sport in the UK , ahead of football. Successful businessman such as Barry Hearn are also involved. You also covered...

What is it with bridges and pool players?

Yes that is true and also how I was taught in snooker and it doesn't take a lot of effort to become fluent at mastering the tool. Hence my questioning mental blocks etc.

What is it with bridges and pool players?

I just edited the wording in my response to include a few more puns :-) I was not questioning the intellect of the players also for Tinman to state that 'Rarely does he see pro players stretch for a shot and not get the desired outcome. So what's the issue?' I thought was a little unrealistic...

What is it with bridges and pool players?

that is an interesting post thank you and is a good example of a professional player taking the time to thoroughly learn and master all of the tools at hand in the game. The fact that Keith took him up on the bet is a strong indication that the skilled use of the bridge among professionals is...

What is it with bridges and pool players?

I believe it comes down to the players confidence in using the implement rather than practicality or rational.

What is it with bridges and pool players?

Thanks Jay, this shot from Dennis actually inspired me to write the post and is a perfect example of why I asked the question. The shot was of huge importance and I was completely confused that a player of his calibre didn't just pull the rest out and play the higher percentage.

What is it with bridges and pool players?

The question was more directed to those who can understand the post. You have made your own assumptions and then had an argument with yourself  I think you could use a rest and try not to burn to many bridges ;-)
