What would be your hobby if not for pool?

I'd go back to college and just take classes I like. Love history and philosophy.

    Pechauer Question&Cue/Shaft Recommendation

I've had my Pechauer for over 10 years and love it. I have other cues as well but play with the Pechauer all the time. If one buys a Pechauer a good choice was made!

Gripping with the back two fingers?

I think I've tried just about every stroke and grip. I've used a slip stroke, a short stroking motion with a short follow through, a Buddy Hall/Allison Fisher type of pause in the back swing stroke, a slow and deliberate follow through similar to Buddy and a rhythm stroke. As far as grips...

ESPN BILLIARDS on the telly RIGHT NOW...

Ewa did a great job! You could see how tense she was and she was able to play through the stress! Good for her!!

    Mika/Williams SBE

I think they call this penny wise and pound foolish. I agree with you that it seems like many in the pool world seem to look to get the quick buck and by doing so they are not seeing that there is so much more money to be made if they would just clean up their act. Golf pros don't have...

Offer constructive tips on Shanelle's game

Thanks Scott. It's kind of a delicate subject, but as I suspected, one that can be a real dilemma. I'm not an instructor by any means but sometimes you see someone that just needs so much help and when they ask (I always wait to be asked) I feel obliged to help them as much as I can. Anyone...

Offer constructive tips on Shanelle's game

I'm not trying to make this an R rated post but she does appear to have large breasts and they could be something she needs to work around. I tried helping a lady with exceptionally large breasts improve her game and realized that she really did have a handicap. She could not stroke the cue...

    Slip Stroke

Joey, I took some lessons from Buddy a few years back in Reno. I asked him about the slip stroke and he was adamantly against it. He did advocate a soft grip. He said that slipping the cue through your hand is not good because you lose control. Watching him shoot right up close was...

What is the best pool hall you ever played in? And where is it?

I agree that Hard Times is an awesome pool hall too. The Jointed Cue is an old school pool hall that does have a great history! It's worth going just to look at all the old pics of players and other memorabilia!

What is the best pool hall you ever played in? And where is it?

California Billiard Club, Mountain View, California. It has the best layout I've ever seen! Lots of room between the tables and very good spectator seating. You almost never feel crowded there whether you are playing or watching. They have great tables too!

USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

Didn't mean to hijack this thread. I hope the information supplied by the other posters is helpful to Jeff. I know I learned something and am grateful to those that provided such great information! Good luck Jeff!

USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

Thanks for responding. Law enforcement where I live is overwhelmed! I doubt they would put out much effort for this. I could be wrong. I'm glad that there is a process in place.

USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

Thank you! I wonder how well that all works. I'm glad to hear that there is at least a process in place.

USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

How do you garnish a wage, seize property, till tap, etc? Who do you get to do that? Will a policeman/sheriff do that for you? Where I live, Stockton, CA, you'd have a very difficult time getting any law enforcement officer to help you with this. They will only respond to serious crimes. Is...

USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

That sure hasn't been my experience. My dad had his own business. He had quite a few people out there that owed him money. He took one of them to court and got a judgment and thought that he would get paid. Nope. He had to find a way to enforce the order. Fortunately for him, one of his...

USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

In addition, it is very difficult for an individual to enforce a judgment. If the judge rules for Jeff and decides he is legally owed $5,000, how does Jeff collect even if Tony had the money? However, if the judge does rule in favor of Jeff, he will at least have the satisfaction that he is in...
