On my GC V, I just folded up some scrap cloth and put it in the bottoms of the pockets. Less noise and no more ball spin.

My pool room is 17' x 23' with a 9-foot GC. Plenty of room for playing comfortably. My only problem is that there are four doors - one in each corner - which limits the seating arrangements. You should have no problems.
