    Loose table cloth

It's better than having the cloth not attached to the table. I remember going to a pool hall and the cloth was completely torn from the table. It was just draping over the slate. I never went back to that pool hall.

Cue stolen in bar: who is responsible?

You'd be surprised what thieves will sell. If he's not selling it to a friend, he's probably going to be in that pool hall again trying to move it or sell it on craigslist/ebay/a local pawn shop.

    Help with 8 Ball Rules

Nice~ That settles one dispute. :D What if you hit your set of balls and but only pocket your opponent's balls? Is it a ball-in-hand for the opponent or does he play the cueball where it is?

    Help with 8 Ball Rules

Say my opponent has one of his balls hanging near the pocket (let's make him solids), would I get to shoot again if I shoot the stripe into the hanger and make both my stripe and the hanging solid? Or is the rule that I have to make my stripe first for it to be a good shot? ...I hate "street...

Wanting to Try Snooker in NYC

I've been looking into places where I may try some snooker during President's Week in NYC with my pool buddies. I was wondering if you guys have any experience with snooker clubs in the area and could point me in the right direction. What are average rates for a game of snooker per hour (per...

A shot you don't see very often, the kill shot

Is a stun shot a kill shot? I thought the drag shot was the kill shot and the outcome after object ball contact is different. A stun shot is shot cued like a stop shot and after contact there's a 90 degree tangent if there's an angle. A kill/drag shot is cued with low english but...

Standing for Long Periods of Time

Besides sitting down and resting a bit, how do you guys typically avoid pain/soreness in the feet and legs from standing for long periods of time? What kind of shoes do you guys wear or what products do you use?

A shot you don't see very often, the kill shot

Ahh, the kill shot, also known as the drag shot in snooker. They use this to make long red pots and come rail for the black.

    World Snooker Shootout - January 28 - 30

My mistake I thought it was like pool rules where it's after contact. What do I know?

    World Snooker Shootout - January 28 - 30

No not the finals. I think it was against Campell where he was snookered by the reds and he played a kick to the yellow. It hit the baulk cushion and then nudged the yellow. The cueball or the yellow was supposed to hit the yellow after contact.

    World Snooker Shootout - January 28 - 30

A missed foul!!!!11 Bond just played an illegal safety with the yellow according to Shoot Out rules. The referees need to remember that the cue ball/object ball needs to hit a rail and not just touch. I saw at least 2 occassions where players could've caught up with ball in hand.

What's the greatest shot you've ever seen?

Some of the best shots I've seen were shot by Chao Fong Pang against Bustamante in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcv9KZVo40o He successfully escapes from a safety by kicking at the 1 ball with a decent amount of check side around 1:30. He also makes an almost full table jump and a...

    "Good Luck"??????

When someone says "You got this" or "Good luck" to me, it just makes me more conscious and overthink things, then I'm more prone to mess up. Like in that video with Earl in it where the crowd cheers him on and he tells them "Shut up, I don't need your encouragement!" I give them a simple nod...

    Gentlemen Moves

8-Ball This goes back to keeping quiet while your opponent is shooting but in 8-ball, I absolutely hate it when someone asks me, "WHICH POCKET?!" while I'm stroking. It's hanging the corner pocket, so I don't see why I'm going to call one of the other 5 pockets! I'll admit, sometimes when I'm...
