Growing pool.... where? In North America? I don't think so. I love seeing this growth in major tournaments, prize monies and pool in general as much as anyone, and I'm not even close to being involved at that level anyways....but I can dream. And 4" deep shelved pockets is killing that dream...

...and how many of them knew before hand that they'd be having to play on Euro style 4" tight assd pockets??? ....when they're probably assuming that this is at the US Open, the backyard of where 9ball pool originated with bigger pockets and exciting matches, they'd get to play on equipment...

By your logic; you are saying you don't want to see great play from the amateurs and semi pros, who might I remind you are the BULK of revenue in billiards in general...you want league players to show up, pay up, but not have much chance to do well, as they're used to playing on barboxes or big...

NO ...these are smaller pockets, 4" now compared with 4 1/8" or 4 1/4" at those events. This is 100% the reason for the boring and general poor play. There is "supposed to be" more to the game of 9ball then just potting proficiency, albeit it is essential to have. Snooker is ALL about potting...

Raga vs Chang was the only decent match I've watched ...everything else hasn't seemed like 9 ball pool at all. Super boring stuff here, and 100% totally contributed to those 4" pockets. ..and what do you think us league players are thinking when we see these conditions....NO way we're spending...

That Cuelee's event was EXCITING to watch....and see some incredible shots taken on, polar opposite of what we're seeing at this year's US Open. The management decisions must be leaning to Euro needs....because this is NO fun at all for North Americans. This is supposed to be 9ball pool ...not...

Agreed !! This trend of tighter pockets is only benefiting the Euro snooker players with ball potting proficiency and simple safety/strategy play and jump cue ability ...It's slowly turning into Chinese 8ball. Please let's stop this trend...

Well said....I'm 1000% in agreement. ...This 4" pocket I feel is a disturbing trend, maybe it would suit 10ball ...but NOT 9ball. 9 ball is supposed to be creative, explosive and fun to watch and play. The Conneticut winner break event was exactly that....FUN to watch. These 2023 US Open...
