    Refinish effect on cue value.

There is absolutely a line but I think it would even be lower than Schons. There are Schon collectors that would argue that an all original Schon should have a higher value. The Bella Sera example if 99% true. If I was a true collector with my principles, I would not buy that cue for my...

    Refinish effect on cue value.

I disagree and as far as your guitar example. If SRV modified HIS guitar, or a guitar he played, that is very different than Joe Shmoe restoring a Strat. To use your example if the Mosconi Bushka was refinished it SHOULD reduce the value by half. That is my opinion, and it is defies common sense...

    Refinish effect on cue value.

I see great answers I wish were true. I have been dealing for a long time and one of my pet peeves is that 50% should happen. But it does not. That is the truth. I have seen fully restored Balabushka's, with two brand new shafts, not by George, get sold for more than an all original with two...

    Conversion Cues by Unknown Makers

My in-laws had a farm in north central PA in the late 80's, just south of Elmira NY. There was a little place called the rec-room. I was told go there... 3 GC 1's and an Anniversary. On the wall, were a dozen Titlists. Many had the little plastic ring with the name under it on paper. I asked who...

Summer is here....who is responsible for WARP IN TRANSIT

If you're a dealer with half a brain.. you overnight the cue, or 2 day it, depending upon value. NEVER ship on a Thursday or Friday that allows the cue to sit in a truck or warehouse. I would say the shipper unless the buyer had made the arrangements, or the shipper is FOB origins. Common...

Why are some sellers so Lazy, and / or Clueless?

Adam logos from the 70's were stickers. I have never seen it inlaid. The problem for identification is that after a refinish, you do not know unless you know. This cue has been refinished, so no sticker. It is also not an Adam Classic reissue. Let me help you out a little... Adam cues the early...

Why are some sellers so Lazy, and / or Clueless?

He has zero feedback so I think you could guarantee this to be a scam listing. Not uncommon. As far as a Monte Carlo, the originals are well made, and I see the reissues advertised a lot as originals. JV

Southwest cues - reasons for their popularity

..and Rolex's keep the same time as a Timex, but people buy them. Just because YOU do not see the value in them, doesn't make it crazy to buy one. How they play is up to the individual. One man's magic wand is another man's tomato stake. JV

Southwest cues - reasons for their popularity

They are popular because they play good. However that is for those that like the way they play, there are people that do not like Bushka's, Szam's, Searings, and everyone else so hearing someone say they don't play good talking about any cue is just an OPINION. They have good quality and have...

Changing wrap on a classic Adam

    Kersenbrock or Franklin

That is too funny. I had a cue that had an LOA from her saying it was an early SW and one from DPK/Young claiming he built it. Unfortunately, she may be unaware of the collectability value from one to the other and that this is a BIG swing. It is unfortunate though, but even the most...

Do most pool cue shippers have very little common sense, or are they just lazy and do not care about the way they package a pool cue when shipping it?

Here is another hint.. with Pirateship 2-day minimum or overnight. You save money AND there is less of a chance of a problem if you pay the little extra to get it there. People who send cues valued over 2k, 3 day or ground, deserve getting them smashed. I see SO MANY people cheap out on the...

Do most pool cue shippers have very little common sense, or are they just lazy and do not care about the way they package a pool cue when shipping it?

I have shipped a lot of cues and never once had an issue. 4" sqr box, 4 in round tube inside of box, and bubble wrap the cue and that is that. It is not rocket science. JV
